Matt Harvey is joined by two sustainable investing experts, Jessie Pettigrew – BT’s Head of Sustainability and ESG and Alison George – Head of Research at Regnan. Jessie and Alison discuss BTIS’ approach to asset stewardship, the role each plays and the importance of transparency.

Alison is a senior leader with deep experience in ESG, responsible investment and active ownership.
As Head of Research Alison oversees Regnan’s research frameworks, processes and outputs, to remain at the forefront of industry practice and meet evolving clients needs.
Having joined the Regnan team in 2006, Alison has worked across all aspects of Regnan’s activities and possesses a combination of both depth and span across ES and G topics, as well as the ability to connect research with engagement and advocacy activities. Prior roles include leading Regnan’s research, engagement and advocacy activities on corporate governance matters and managing Regnan’s program of corporate engagement.
A Chartered Accountant, Alison also holds a BA (Jurisprudence) and a Masters of Environment. Her prior experience spans professional services (EY), regulation and research.
Jessie Pettigrew, BCom, BE(Mech)(Hons), MSust – Head of Sustainability and ESG, Sustainable Investment
Responsible for the delivery of the sustainable investment strategy, Jessie’s focus is on the integration of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) considerations into the team’s investment process, the asset stewardship program, including company engagement and proxy voting activities as well as sustainable investment advocacy. She also advises on development and implementation of sustainability initiatives for BT’s wealth products including super, investments and platforms.
Jessie has been working in BT since in 2017 and joined the BT Investment Solutions team in 2019, her pervious role was as Senior Sustainability Manager. Prior to joining
