Ohio State landed four-star quarterback Kyle McCord on Tuesday, and he hails from Philadelphia.
The People's Champ, Matt Baxendell, joins Dave Biddle for today's show to discuss McCord's decision to become a Buckeye. And Bax thinks Penn State fans should be salty about losing out on McCord.
It is a quarterback-themed show as we also delve into what to expect from Gunnar Hoak, Justin Fields and more.
All of that and more is coming at you on the Wednesday extravaganza,
Yes, it is technically the offseason. But this is Ohio State football. Is there really an offseason?
Judging by the news generated in the last seven days since Duane Long was here on the BM5, there is nothing 'off' about it.
The Buckeyes quarterback carousel has spun itself into a new rotation. Gunnar Hoak is back home after three years in Kentucky. What type of role will he have?
There was also this little talent acquisition event called the NFL Draft. Think New Year's Eve in NYC meets Nashville.
Nine Buckeyes were selected.
Who landed in the best spot?
All that and more with Duane today so spend 5ish with us!
It is a divisive topic, but one we are going to delve deep into on The Joshua Perry Show today.
Should college football players get paid?
And before you say, "They already get paid. They get a full-ride scholarship, plus a cost-of-attendance stipend on top of that." Yes, everyone knows that. The question is should get they paid a lot more than they currently do, considering the money that college football generates?
If they did get paid a lot more, how would it work? Would starters get paid more than fourth-teamers? Would everyone get paid equally?
What about the non-revenue sports? How would paying the football players be in line with Title IX regulations if you didn't pay the non-revenue athletes?
Joshua and Dave Biddle have about a 24-minute discussion on the topic, so strap yourself in for a lively edition of the JP show!
Today's show is loaded as Bill "Bank" Greene joins Dave Biddle.
* Is Gunnar Hoak an upgrade over Matthew Baldwin?
* What are thoughts on Michael Jordan leaving early for the NFL and slipping until the very late stages of the fourth round? Would Jonah Jackson have transferred to Ohio State if Jordan returned?
* What is Bank's take on OSU center Josh Myers?
* We're still scratching our heads over Daniel Jones being selected over Dwayne Haskins in the NFL Draft.
All of that and more on the Monday extravaganza.
Dwayne Haskins was not in the mood to be politically correct after falling to pick No. 15 of the first round of the NFL Draft to the Washington Redskins Thursday night.
Haskins' exact words were: "I'm more motivated than ever. Now I've got an even bigger chip on my shoulder. The league done messed up."
And it wasn't just that Haskins slipped to the middle part of the round. It is that the New York Giants selected QB Daniel Jones from Duke at pick No. 6 instead of Haskins. Now, Giants GM Dave Gettleman might be the only person on the planet who would have done that, but he did it.
Patrick Murphy joins Dave Biddle on today's show to discuss why Haskins fell in this draft. Is there something fans don't know about, or is this just the typical paralysis by analysis that we see from the NFL?
But hey, the good news is Haskins became the first Big Ten quarterback to be taken in the first round since Kerry Collins from Penn State in 1995. Haskins also became the first Ohio State QB to be taken in the first round since Art Schlichter in 1982. Furthermore, Haskins gets to play his professional ball for a team located just 14 miles from Haskins' parents' house in Potomac, Md. (The Haskins family moved from New Jersey to the D.C. area when Haskins was in 9th grade.)
Also, Nick Bosa went No. 2 overall to the San Francisco 49ers.
How early will Dre'Mont Jones, Parris Campbell, Terry McLaurin, Michael Jordan and perhaps others hear their names called during rounds 2-3 tonight?
All of that and more on a drafty version of the Friday extravaganza.
Colorado is known for its ski slopes and progressive laws, among other things.
Offensive linemen? Not exactly the state's calling card. At least for now.
Ohio State may have located a prospect that can change that. Who is it?
Also: Perhaps the best linebacker in the Class of 2020 will be in Columbus for an official visit this weekend. But Mekhail Sherman is thought to be a heavy Georgia lean. Can the Buckeyes get back in front here?
What are you doing July 4? You will be on Bucknuts, waiting to hear if Jutahn McClain will be a Buckeye.
We talk all of that and more with 247Sports Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong, who makes his usual Thursday appearance in fine fashion.
Spend 5ish with us this morning, 'Nutters!
The People's Champ, Matt Baxendell, got quite the reaction from readers of his Bucket of Bullets column last Sunday when he wrote about the pending transfer of quarterback Matthew Baldwin away from Ohio State.
Bax joins Dave Biddle to further explain his point regarding Baldwin and why he wrote the column.
Also on the docket:
* What exactly led to Baldwin's transfer? It was obviously more than just about "homesickness."
* What are thoughts on Gunnar Hoak leaving Kentucky? Is he definitely OSU-bound, or are people too quick to assume that? If he does pick Ohio State, what can fans expect from him?
* Can Chris Chugunov get the job done for the Buckeyes if called on in 2019?
All of that and more on the Wednesday extravaganza.
The Joshua Perry Show is back with another episode and there is plenty to discuss.
Perry, the former Ohio State linebacker, national champion, captain and NFL player, joins Dave Biddle to discuss the following:
* Thoughts on Matthew Baldwin deciding to transfer from OSU.
* The possibility of the Buckeyes landing Kentucky transfer Gunnar Hoak for QB depth.
* What could be expected of Chris Chugunov if he needs to play in a big game this coming season?
* What is Joshua hearing about starting quarterback Justin Fields? Is Fields a good leader? How is he received in the locker room?
* It was three years ago when Joshua was going through the NFL Draft process. He was selected early in the fourth round of the 2016 draft by the Chargers. What was it like for him?
* What does Perry think of the talk that Dwayne Haskins' stock is falling? It is a smokescreen, or is there more to the story?
All of that and more is coming at you on the latest edition of The Joshua Perry Show.
Which Buckeyes are best?
The 2019 season is fast approaching. So we thought it was time to offer up some predictions. What could be more interesting than which players need to thrive?
Nothing. Nothing could be more interesting.
So Duane Long is here to reveal his Top Eight Buckeyes Under Pressure for the '19 season.
Now, this is NOT a projection of who will go highest in the NFL Draft? This is a straight list of Buckeyes that have to raise their level regardless of class or position.
Who is your top eight? Pause the show right now and come up with yours if you want to play along.
Spend 5ish with us today, 'Nutters!
There is plenty on the docket as the Dean of Ohio State Football Recruiting, Bill Kurelic, joins Dave Biddle for today's show.
* What is the Dean's reaction to quarterback Matthew Baldwin transferring from OSU?
* What is Kurelic hearing about any possible QB transfers that could add depth for the Buckeyes? Or is it all quiet on that front? Could Gunnar Hoak from Kentucky be an option?
* What is the latest with 2020 recruits Bijan Robinson and safety Lathan Ransom, who are teammates in high school in Arizona?
* Who does the Dean believe will be the first running back to commit to Ohio State in the 2020 class?
* What is the latest with Paris Johnson, fresh off his official visit to Georgia? How concerned should Buckeye fans be?
All of that and more on the Monday extravaganza.
