An NFL legacy prepping at IMG Academy?
Yes, please.
Heralded defensive back Houston Griffith released his top schools yesterday and as of now there is one recruiting expert that Crystal Balled the IMG star for Ohio State ... and he joins us today with smoothie in hand.
247Sports Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong is here for his usual Thursday spot to talk Griffith, the commitment of Master Teague and the commitment status of Jaiden Woodbey.
Spend 5ish with us this a.m.!
You want football and nothing but football? Well, you came to the right place.
On today's show, Patrick Murphy joins Dave Biddle to talk about the depth chart battles for Ohio State this season.
Who will win the starting jobs at right guard, wide receiver, cornerback, safety and more?
That is all tackled on the midweek spectacular.
There are important visits ... and there are important visits.
For K'Vaughan Pope today is one of the latter.
The Virginia linebacker will be working out in front of the Ohio State staff this morning in Columbus. If Pope passes the 'eye-test' an offer could be his reward. And if that happens, we think Pope's deliberation process on college will end abruptly.
But that's not all.
Big-time big guy Matt Jones is visiting from Brooklyn this weekend. He's also on commitment watch.
And today - yes, today (Tuesday) - is the second of three one-day camps in Columbus featuring prospects aplenty. Our Bill Kurelic is on the scene and will be all day.
But now, sit back and spend some quality time with Duane Long on the BM5!!!
Chris Holtmann will be introduced as Ohio State's head men's basketball coach today at 11 a.m.
What do we think of the Holtmann hire?
Will he bring his entire staff from Butler with him?
What recruits might Holtmann land in the near future? Is Kyle Young going to follow him to OSU?
On the football front, the Buckeyes landed their 13th commitment in their excellent 2018 class: running back Master Teague. What kind of back is he? Is he underrated?
Alex Gleitman joins Dave Biddle to discuss all of that and more on this exciting day in Buckeye Nation.
This week has been one giant rollercoaster ride in terms of the head coaching position of the Ohio State men's basketball team.
On Monday, seemingly out of the blue, Thad Matta was fired by OSU athletic director Gene Smith.
Big names immediately were mentioned in connection for the job, such as Billy Donovan.
However, by the middle portion of the week, it appeared as though Creighton's Greg McDermott was going to be offered the job. Ohio State fans were not happy by that development.
Then on Thursday night, word broke that Chris Holtmann from Butler was the frontrunner for the job. On Friday morning, the Columbus Dispatch reported that Holtmann would become the 14th head coach in the history of the program.
Steve Helwagen joins Dave Biddle to discuss this breaking news and what type of hire Holtmann is for the Buckeyes. Also broached is whether 2017 recruit Kyle Young from Ohio will follow Holtmann to OSU (Young committed to Butler over OSU).
Need a break from the influx of basketball coaching chatter?
You've come to the right place.
It's Thursday and that means 247Sports Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong is here to spread wisdom.
Why did he flip his crystal to the good guys for Micah Parsons?
After spending a day with Luke Fickell and Co. in Cincy, what does Wiltfong think of Ohio's newest regime?
How worried should we be about Jaiden Woodbey's possible wandering eye?
Spend some of your a.m. with us, 'Nutters!
Who will replace Thad Matta as Ohio State's basketball coach?
Steve Helwagen joins Dave Biddle to give insights on that, including an inside scoop from one of Helwagen's sources.
And if the coach that Helwagen mentions is not hired, who are other candidates for the job?
That plus more on the midweek extravaganza.
We don't often lead the BM5 with basketball chatter.
But when Ohio State's coach of 13 years is told his time is up, we make an exception.
The Thad Matta era in Columbus is over. That's not the surprising part. It's how it ended.
Why now? This is an inopportune time to make a coaching change.
Who will replace Thad? We discuss realistic and not-so-realistic candidates whose names are being bandied about?
But Duane Long was the guest so we had to work in some football recruiting as well. What does he think of Teradja Mitchell and Andrew Chatfield joining the mix?
Spend some this a.m. with us, 'Nutters!
The beat goes on for Urban Meyer and Ohio State on the recruiting front. And it is one loud, impressive beat.
The Buckeyes surprised much of the recruiting world when they landed the country's No. 2 inside linebacker, Teradja Mitchell, on Friday. The majority of analysts and fans thought Mitchell was Florida State bound, but it was the latest case of Meyer getting the best of his competition when going after one of the nation's top recruits.
The Dean of Ohio State Football Recruiting, Bill Kurelic, joins Dave Biddle to discuss that, plus:
* Is 2018 the year when OSU will finish with the No. 1 recruiting class in the land? (The Buckeyes are currently No. 2 behind Miami.)
* What is the latest on the following top prospects on OSU's board: Micah Parsons, Jackson Carman, Tyreke Smith, Blue Smith and Aeneas Hawkins?
* With Meyer recruiting so hard and at such a high level, is it safe to assume he will be at Ohio State for several years to come?
The Monday edition of the 5ish has you covered.
Which J.T. Barrett will Ohio State get this season? The 2014 version that finished fifth for the Heisman Trophy? Or the 2015-16 version that struggled throwing the ball against good defenses?
Tony Gerdeman from the-ozone.net is our special guest on today's show, and he tackles that question and much more.
What can fans expect from right tackle Isaiah Prince?
What intrigues Gerd the most regarding the Buckeyes' defense heading into this season?
How will Chris Worley perform at middle linebacker?
That plus more on the Friday extravaganza.
