In this episode of The Herbalist Hour, I'm joined in-person by Justine Diamond. Justine is a manager at Miss Anne's Maypop Herb Shop based in New Orleans.
We traveled to NOLA, my favorite city, for my 40th birthday and had the opportunity to interview three incredible herbalists.
Justine was one of 'em and we met up at the herb shop to record this interview.
We chat about affordability in herbal medicine, non-capitalistic approaches, Maypop's disaster relief services, community building, Justine's 10 year journey at the shop and a whole lot more.
There are also a couple of special guest questions from my good friends and Herbalist Hour alum, Rosalee de la Forêt and Nick Moya.
JUSTINE'S BIO Justine Diamond works behind the scenes at Maypop performing administrative and managerial duties. She has been in relationship with plants since she was a child and began studying herbalism informally when she joined the Maypop team in 2016.
She completed the Reclaim Program at Samara School of Community Herbalism in 2019 and continues to learn and grow in her practice.
Justine also creates natural perfumes through her business, Elspeth’s Airs, which can be found in the shop. She is a certified aromatherapist and is available for consultations and custom products. Justine loves being in the world of plants and especially appreciates Maypop’s commitment to community and accessible medicine.
Thanks for tuning in and we'll see you in the next episode,
~Mason
