Behind the Scenes of Building a Scalable Business Model

If you start building a scalable business model now, what’s possible in your business and life in just a few years will blow your mind.

I could tell you stories about where my clients started, and their shiny results at the end. But I also want you to hear what happens in the middle.

What happened during the coaching calls that helped a client go from $1k to multiple 6 figures?

I can tell one thing, right off the bat: That didn’t happen overnight. And that is not a bad thing! Our culture often looks for instant gratification and quick wins, rather than steady, sustainable results. 

The thing is, if you want to scale your business without succumbing to the pressure and hustle that come with instant gratification and quick fixes, you have to learn to value sustainability in your business.

How to NOT Build a Scalable Business

Building a scalable business is a lot simpler than most entrepreneurs think it is. And the reason so many of you see scaling as a complicated thing, is because of the haphazard approach you see so many others taking. 

What do I mean by haphazard? Things are done out of order! If you don’t have a scalable offer that is getting clients results, then you don’t need to create more offers, add new marketing strategies or change the way you’re selling. You’ve got to start with the foundation, and build up from there.

First Things First: A Scalable Offer

It all starts with the offer.

Once you’ve hit 6 figures and your time is maxed out, you definitely need a scalable offer.

When you get down to building a scalable offer, the actual process of it can be pretty straightforward. But, like everything in business, there are some tricky thought errors that can get in the way (making it seem harder than it is).

Celebrating Milestones in Business…Even the Embarrassing Ones!

Not all milestones are pretty. Not all of them feel like milestones. In fact, depending on your look at it, some wouldn’t label them milestones at all. (I’ve heard the word “failures” thrown around.) 

But I believe in celebrating all milestones in your business. Even the mortifying ones. 

So for my 100th episode, I’m sharing 100 “milestones” that I think many of you can relate to. 

We tend to want to put our best foot forward when marketing and selling in our business. Who wants to buy from flawed human beings, anyway? 

The answer: everyone! 

Why Clients Want to Hear Your Vulnerable Stories Too

Yes, your clients choose you for your expertise, your messaging that meets them where they’re at, and your programs that offer a solution to their problems. But they also choose you for YOU. Because you’ve been through the same challenges they’re going through now. You’ve made the same mistakes they’re making. 

So that’s why I’m sharing some of my mistakes and “lows” in today’s episode. Because I've learned to feel through the disappointment and embarrassment, and all the other feelings…and then I know how to become stronger because of it. 

I want you to see that it’s okay to have lows. It’s ok to make mistakes. I promise you - everyone else is doing it too.

Scaling Your Business As an Expert In Your Industry

Scaling your business is not the same as being an expert in your business. In fact, many experts who come to work with me are total beginners when it comes to scaling. Meanwhile, there are other people making millions who aren’t even great at what they do! 

That’s because of what I call: The Expert Dilemma. 

This is where you’ve mastered your skill. You’ve put in the money, the time, the energy, and the dedication. Your clients get incredible results. You’ve got testimonials galore. Maybe you’re even booked solid, and you’ve hit a cap - a cap in your income, time, and energy. 

That’s where you have to structure your business a little differently.

• 5 shifts that experts need to make if they want to create a 7 figure business.
• How to use those shifts to help you go through a life-changing process that takes you from helping clients 1:1 to scaling sustainably by working with groups.

Freedom Through Structure: For the Visionary Entrepreneur

Doing whatever you feel like, whenever you feel like it, isn’t freedom in your business. 

I know you want to do things your way. I know you don’t want to be crammed into a cookie-cutter strategy. 

And you don’t have to be. 

But you do need some structure so that your business isn’t fully reliant on you and to support the creative aspects of your business. 

When you establish that structure, that’s when you:

• De-clutter your mind to let your creative juices do their best work
• Save time (for you and your team members) so you can focus on the visionary, money-making aspects
• Open up your business to even MORE freedom than you ever thought possible

I’ve always been super independent.

Once I became a mom I encouraged independence in my children as well.

It’s something I’ve done from the beginning, and I suppose it’s just the way I’m wired, because I’m passionate about creating independent businesses too!

Just like I’ve taught my kids how to get results without relying on me, I teach CEOs how to grow businesses without relying on them.

Because if you want to scale a business, results can’t be entirely dependent on you. Otherwise, when you stop - your business stops.

Earlier this year I had the privilege of talking to my son’s travel baseball team about some of the concepts I teach business owners.

You see - just like business - baseball is as much about the inner game than the outer game.

And this group of talented athletes were losing some games - not because of their skill - but because of their mindset.

So - I showed them that just like getting in reps with hitting, putting in work to improve their pitching and fielding - they need to focus on their inner game.
