Susan is a beekeeper who educates people on how to raise healthy and happy bees. 

She has a small farm on the Big Island of Hawaii, called Bird and Bee Hawaii. Susan teaches beekeeping classes, she sells beekeeping equipment in her farm shop, and she also has a bird rescue on her property with over 50 rescued chickens, peacocks, turkeys and other types of birds. 

Susan needs to hire someone to help her because she just can’t do everything anymore.

Initially Susan is thinking she’ll only hire one person for social media, farm shop duties and property maintenance but as we explore hiring options in this coaching session, it becomes clear that something different is needed. 

Like many business owners, Susan has a lot of questions about how to grow her business and how best to find, hire and keep great staff and delegate more so she can grow her business and focus on the tasks she most enjoys.

Albert is the teacher and founder of a high-level creative writing school which is an alternative to MFA programs. Albert wants more students in his program, but he’s got his foot on the gas and the brake at the same time in his business, which you will hear in this session.  

There’s an inner confidence that he needs to cultivate, and it starts with Albert discovering tangible ways that will assist him to emotionally take in the large amount of positive feedback he’s received from students throughout the many years he’s had his writing school. 

There’s no question that Albert is confident in his craft, but he needs to work the confidence muscle when it comes to marketing his business and becoming more visible online.

Gabrielle is a business owner recovering from a hysterectomy and now that her healing is nearly done, she wants to be able to create a more financially lucrative business. 

She has a dog treat business and an overnight pet sitting business. And, though she is passionate about expanding and growing her business in new ways, she also wants to protect her mental health in the process and not burn herself out. 

This second part of Gabrielle’s session went in a direction both of us did not see coming. That’s one of the experiences I love most about coaching – when both the client I’m working with and I can get out of the way and be open to where the session wants to take us, empowering change can occur. This episode is Part One of the business coaching session with Gabrielle.

Gabrielle is a business owner recovering from a hysterectomy and now that her healing is nearly done, she wants to be able to create a more financially lucrative business.

She has two businesses that work very well together; she has a dog treat business and an overnight pet sitting business.

Gabrielle has sold her treats to her overnight pet sitting clients, but she’d like to expand the treat business beyond her own pet owner clients. She wants to get her dog treats into local stores and she’s not sure how to do that or where to start her with her business expansion.

When Gabrielle isn’t providing overnight pet sitting to her clients, she lives at her parent's house. Moving into her own house is part of her motivation to make more money in her businesses.

Ari is the youngest entrepreneur I’ve coached.

He’s 13 years old and has created a Marin County, California product business that is gift baskets for dogs. He sells his baskets to neighbors, at farmer’s markets and through word-of-mouth from those who share venture. He sells his dog gift baskets to buyers all over the United States. 

Ari is wondering how to grow his pet product business and he’d especially like to increase his business exposure by being interviewed on podcasts. So, I had him on Business Pathfinder so he could experience being on a podcast.

Karma is Lamaze-trained and has worked at her local Northern California hospital assisting many births along with helping to alleviate the fear pregnant women often experience. 

During the pandemic, Karma created an online birth class and birth coaching service. Now she’s ready to grow her business and needs boots-on-the-ground instruction to take her business the next level to reach soon-to-be parents and help a lot more people.

Grace wants to expand her pie company. She’s currently making 500 pies herself each week and she needs staffing help, a commercial kitchen and more personal time!

Delisa is an artist who has an artist space but it’s not quite right for her creative needs because it’s tucked in the back of another building. 

She’s mulling over the possibility of wanting to find an art space where she could potentially sell her art, and have her friends sell their art too and create a feeling of community with the space. However, she doesn’t want to have to be there all the time, the way she felt when she had a commercial space years ago.
