Use ‘curiosity’ wisely!

During a keynote yesterday, I was explaining how to focus on adding value for the ideal client, especially in our content. The question was raised what about creating curiosity.

My answer and conviction are simply that curiosity must be use in our headlines, the very first sentence, purely to ensure that our content will be consumed.

But we should never use curiosity to detail the solutions we offer.

The more you reveal, the more value you add…

The more value you add, the more you create an understanding of how much you actually offer and how much they will benefit and save.

As a Baby Boomer, I saw it all!

I started my IT career in the mainframe era. PC’s, Laptops, Notebooks, Internet, Mobile Devices, iPads, iPods were unheard of.

Then they came one by one, infiltrating our worlds and taking over.

Now each invention, technology evolution, was met with fear. 𝘍𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘫𝘰𝘣 𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘴!

I guess it is just natural for those that resist change.

Again, I am witnessing yet another technology evolution – 𝘈𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 (𝘈𝘐)!

And again, it is met with fear – fear of losing jobs and opportunities!

So, will we see job losses?

Absolutely!

But it can be prevented…

You see, I believe the employee, the business, that will prepare and ensure that they strategise and learn how to use AI as a business tool to get results will not only survive but thrive.

But key is going to be to change your focus from…

Just having a skill to produce an end product…

To being able to use the tools available to produce 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗦!

We are entering a world that will only be results driven, 𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦!

Agreed?!

So, we talk a lot about brand building but what about brand protection?

Years ago, I started warning my clients that a storm is coming. Well, the storm has started, we are in the midst of a it.

What storm?

Well you see, as B2B organisations adopt the digital online world as their preferred (and for some only) method for marketing and sales, the competition is becoming fierce!

Don’t get derailed with reports and complaints of spam, shiny object syndrome or what works or what doesn’t!

Focus on building, establishing, and maintaining your own communities.

Why?

For more brand exposure, more visibility, more ideal clients to know me!

Ok, maybe it was just me.

I quickly in my LinkedIn journey discovered working smarter not harder just makes everything so much more fun.

That is when I discovered the power of 𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙮𝙚𝙚 𝙖𝙙𝙫𝙤𝙘𝙖𝙘𝙮.

Earn the right to own a lead!

If you are using LinkedIn to promote your business, create brand awareness, generate leads or even to grow your business, this principle is key.

𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘺…

LinkedIn is a social media platform to build relationships with the main objective to invite your community, your audience, into your own environment.

👉LinkedIn is not your platform...

👉LinkedIn is not your marketing tool…

👉LinkedIn is not your email marketing system...

𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘰 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘦𝘥𝘐𝘯!

Your main focus on the platform should always be to add enough value to connections, your audience, your community to invite them to exchange their contact details in return for even more value…

You need to use LinkedIn to build your own leads database… Remember, LinkedIn is not a leads database… it is still social media platform!

𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨…

Some LinkedIn users wants to speed up this process and lose sight of the fact that:

▶️ You need to build relationships first with your ideal client.

▶️ You need to add enough value to make it worth it for your ideal client to give you their contact details and become part of your community off LinkedIn

Ultimately your LinkedIn activity is always only focused on building know, like, and trust relationships by adding huge value…

Then you earned the right to own the lead!

Test your marketing!

Don’t just take advice blindly and assume it will work wonders for you as it does for the advisor!

Adopting a mindset, a methodology, to test everything you do to make your brand known and accepted, on a platform like LinkedIn, will save you a heap of frustration and wasted effort.

Focus especially on testing:

▶️ What do your audience and ideal client really want

▶️ What is the problem(s) they experience that is hindering your ideal client in getting what they want

▶️ What other people’s posts should you engage with and how

▶️ What type of content will create huge engagement

▶️ What voice and tone will resonate best with your ideal clients

𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴…

Don’t just copy others and assume what works for them will work for you!

𝘐𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘯’𝘵!

Because your audience, your ideal client, your solutions, are unique and different!

Test, test, test, and test some more…

Until you find you own unique sweet spot!

You should not 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 copy or repost others content posts…

It can cause huge brand reputational damage!

This simple and easy 7-step about section framework is based on Donald Miller’s storytelling framework. It just works!

Over time it has proven to create daily sales opportunities for my business and my clients but the real gem is that it attracts ideal clients.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟳-𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗜𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸:

👉 Step 2: Highlight the problem they are experiencing that hinders them to have what they want.

👉 Step 3: Introduce your self as the solutions provider with empathy and competency.

👉 Step 4: Explain the next steps in bullet points.

👉 Step 5: Give them a call to action with confidence.

👉 Step 6: Highlight what failure in taking action will look like.

👉 Step 7: Show them the success, the transformation they will experience if they engage with you!

Follow this framework so that you can stop having profile visitors that will forever just scroll, never engage or take action and instead convert profile visitors into prospects that are ready to engage and take action
