These lovely ladies joined us from Autism Friendly Fleet. Formed in 2017 by a group of mums with children on the autistic spectrum. Their aim is to raise awareness of autism and work together with local businesses and organisations to help them become autism friendly.

What They do?

Free basic autism awareness training for businesses and organisations

Chill Zone areas at events in Fleet to provide a quiet area for people who may not otherwise be able to access these events

Work with local businesses and organisations to raise autism awareness and help suggest adjustments that could be made to aid customers, staff and service users

We met Allan outside for a chat at Cantine in Fleet – High Street to have a chat on the importance of the Men’s Shed, which is based on Crookham Park.

The Men’s Shed was formed in 2017, and has gone from strength to strength, the men’s shed is a larger version of the typical man’s shed in the garden: a place where you can feel at home and pursue practical interests.

The shed offers the facilities to pursue your own projects or if you are feeling community spirited, get involved in one of our many community projects, all in our purpose built shed.

They have some amazing machinery and equipment, and members also share the tools and resources they need to work on any project.

There is no pressure, you can work at your own pace or if you just want some conversation, you will be in a safe, friendly and inclusive environment.

Fibromyalgia is a condition that causes widespread pain throughout the body. Fibromyalgia can also cause sleep problems, fatigue and mental or emotional distress. People with fibromyalgia are often more sensitive to pain than those who do not have fibromyalgia. 

This referred to as abnormal pain perception processing.

There's no cure for fibromyalgia, but treatments like painkillers, talking therapies and exercise programmes may help ease some of your symptoms.
