The Penn State football recruiting season is about to close this weekend. But before that, the Nittany Lions host one more official visit group. Will head coach James Franklin and his recruiting staff go out with a bang? We’re discussing that, plus reviewing the work they put in last weekend on the BWI Live Recruiting Show.

Join industry insiders Sean Fitz and Ryan Snyder as we break down the recent commitments and breaking news to come and preview the final weekend of prospects on today’s show. Join us live at 10 a.m. on YouTube, or catch the replay on the site.

A closer look at Jahmir Joseph

We’ve covered four-star commit Jahmir Joseph on the BWI YouTube channel already, but since then, our staff has taken a closer look at his skills and film. We’ll start the show breaking that down and discussing what we’ve seen from the top corner on Penn State’s board. We’ll also catch up on what intel Snyder has gained from speaking to recruits and staff this past week.

Penn State land Antonio Branch

Last night, Penn State football landed four-star safety Antonio Branch out of Florida. The 6-2 safety prospect chose Penn State over Louisville and other southern schools to give the team a solid addition at safety. What led to his commitment to Penn State? We’ll discuss how Anthony Poindexter landed the position of project player and how his recruiting ranking may not accurately reflect his position and potential at Penn State.

Official visit recap and preview

Penn State hosted some of its most critical prospects of the 2025 cycle along with it’s committed players last weekend. Four-star tight end Andrew Olesh spoke with On3 recently and our experts relay the situation to fans on the show. Which school is in the lead for the Luke Reynolds-type prospect? We’ll discuss that and how the recruiting pitch against Penn State doesn’t totally make sense when it comes to playing time.

Next, we’ll preview the final weekend of official visits. Here’s the list of players attending starting Friday.

A new edition of the Penn State wrestling show from Blue-White Illustrated is live. Hosts Thomas Frank Carr and reporter Greg Pickel are back with the latest on head coach Cael Sanderson's program. This week's episode is heavy on recruiting talk with news of another honor for Aaron Brooks, as well.

The duo start the show by breaking down the Nittany Lions' Class of 2024. MatScouts and InterMat both recently released their final team rankings for the latest recruiting cycle. Penn State leads both top 25 lists.

It's not a surprise, as the program is bringing six top-100 wrestlers into the Lorenzo Wrestling Complex, including No. 1 pound-for-pound Pa., prep star Luke Lilledahl, who will wrestle at 125 pounds and possibly start this season, in addition to top-15 recruits Connor (No. 5, projects at 197 pounds) and Cole (No. 14/heavyweight) Mirasola from Wisconsin, New York's Zack Ryder (No. 6/174 or 184), Wyoming Seminary standout Joe Sealey (No. 8/165), and Jersey Shore's Brock Weiss (No. 91/157). Those rankings are courtesy of MatScouts. Penns Valley middleweight Ty Watson rounds out this year's signing group. It arrives on campus soon and a few members of it could find their way into the starting lineup. Why did Penn State have another successful recruiting run? Carr and Pickel discuss all of the reasons why.

You can watch this week’s Penn State wrestling show in the video player above and also on YouTube. Or, you can listen at your favorite destinations for audio like SPOTIFY and APPLE.

From there, the conversation turns to Aaron Brooks. The four-time NCAA champ is the Penn State male athlete of the year. It puts him in line to be the Big Ten Male Athlete of the Year. That honor will be announced later this year. Carr and Pickel recap his time in State College as he looks ahead to the Olympic games. He will compete for Team USA at 86 kilograms this summer in France.

The show closes with some notes on Class of 2026 recruiting. Coaches in multiple sports can now contact prospects in that cycle. Who are the early top targets to be aware of? Pickel and Carr discuss the name at the top, Bishop McCort star Bo Bassett, and other top targets to be aware of.

The Penn State football team's anemic passing attack has been the main story for the 2023 offseason. On today's show, we're taking you inside the data that we've assembled to explain why Andy Kotelnicki can fix the passing game and why he was hired to be the next offensive coordinator for head coach James Franklin.

We'll also discuss the roster update that came out on Tuesday afternoon from the football program and some of the notable changes that players have made this offseason.

Get the most out of Blue White Illustrated by subscribing to our YouTube Channel. We provide you with the best live shows, breaking news and podcasts anywhere on the Penn State internet!

Penn State weight changes

The final Penn State roster update came down Tuesday evening, which is always a good time to review players' changes this offseason. Host Greg Pickel will take you through the notable changes in player body types from the top gainers this offseason. We'll also discuss which changes are the most relevant. What can we learn from Tony Rojas and Abdul Carter's changes? We'll discuss that and more.

Offensive efficiency under Andy Kotelnicki

On the Tuesday edition of the BWI Live Show, we didn't get to one critical question in the BWI Mailbag that we'll address today. Essentially the question deals with the team's ability to do more with less in the passing game. Can Andy Kotelnicki throw the ball fewer times but get more explosive plays from the passing game?

We've written extensively about this topic and will discuss it on today's show.

The Penn State Football team enters a critical six-week stretch for the team's 2024 preparations. The annual Lift for Life event kicks off that time of year, which happened last Thursday. On today's BWI Live Show, we discuss what we saw and heard and who we spoke to at the event. Join Penn State insiders Sean Fitz and Nate Bauer for sixty minutes of discussion on the team, including your questions and comments! We'll have our weekly mailbag segment to end the show.

Now's a great time to subscribe to the Blue White Illustrated YouTube Channel. With recruiting news surging, you don't want to miss any commitment recap videos or breaking news when it happens.

Fitz's Recruiting Update

Before we dive into the Penn State Football discussion, we'll start the show with our weekly update on the weekend's recruiting efforts. Fitz gives you a recap of what you need to know about the team's efforts with its latest commit, Jahmir Joseph, its latest miss, and more info from the official visit weekend.

While most of the news centers around the Class of 2025, the Lions were dealt a blow on Monday when 2026 quarterback Dia Bell picked Texas over Penn State. Fitz will discuss how that affects the next cycle and how the team will need to move on from it's top target.

From there, we'll discuss Joseph's commitment and the news from the four uncommitted players who visited campus this past weekend.

Drew Allar: A future number one pick?

Yesterday, Eric Galko, Director of Operations for the Shrine Bowl, posted on X that he believes Penn State starting quarterback Drew Allar can be the top pick in next Spring's NFL Draft. We'll discuss the merits of what Galko said, his reasons for doing so, and the reality of Allar's potential.

Lift for Life

Lift for Life is more than a charity event raising money for rare disease research, although that's its critical objective. It's also a chance to get a full view of the Penn State football team's progress since spring football. This year, the event coincided with the team's summer media update. So we'll discuss the important comments from head coach James Franklin and his top assistants. We'll also discuss what head strength coach Chuck Losey said when asked for his evaluation of the team.

BWI Mailbag

Finally, we'll take your questions. You are the star in the BWI Mailbag as we take questions from the live audience during our Tuesday Show. We have also included questions from the Lion's Den that were submitted to the BWI Mailbag Thread. Join the show to have your voice heard!

Penn State wrestling continues to be in the news as June rolls along. The Blue-White Illustrated show and podcast dedicated solely to head coach Cael Sanderson's team is back with a fresh episode to get you another week closer to the start of the college season.

Host Thomas Frank Carr and reporter Greg Pickel start this week's rundown with transfer portal news. Former Nittany Lion Terrell Barraclough was the only member of the program to look for another home following the 2023-2024 season. He's found it. The graduate senior with one year of eligibility remaining will finish his career at Utah Valley. It is about an hour from his hometown in Kaysville, Utah. Barraclough will man the 165-pound spot for the Big 12 program. In the Big Ten, he wrestled all throughout the middle weights and even saw time at 174 pounds during the 2023-2024 season. He was 2-1 in dual meets and 12-2 overall. His career record at Penn State is 42-19. Carr and Pickel dive into why Utah Valley is the right fit for Barraclough.

From there, the duo looks back at the U20 Nationals and U.S. U23 Team Trails. Five future Nittany Lions earned spots on the U20 team, as Second-year PSU wrestler Josh Barr (86 kilograms), Class of 2024 signees Luke Lilledahl (57 kilograms), Zack Ryder (79 kilograms), and Connor Mirasola (92 kilograms), and Class of 2025 commit PJ Duke (70 kilograms) will all represent their country at the U20 World Championships in Spain this September. The Lions do not have a U23 Team member at the moment.

From there, the conversation turns to the outlook for Penn State wrestling at 133 pounds in 2024-2025. Will second-year Nittany Lion Aaron Nagao man the starting spot again? He suffered an undisclosed injury at the U23 Team Trials. It is unclear how that will impact his prep for the fall. But either way, second-year Penn State wrestler Braeden Davis looks to be on a path to bumping up to 133 pounds. Whether he redshirts this year to compete for the job next year or competes with Nagao for it this year remains to be seen. The pair close the show by discussing all of the factors that will go into that decision.

It's another chance for the program to put it's best foot forward and potentially secure a high-level commitment for the team's 13-player class. So, who is attending? We're discussing that, plus so much more, on today's BWI Live Recruiting Show.

Join us at 10 a.m. on YouTube to discuss how the month's recruiting efforts are going, including prospect camp updates and commitment trackers for the players linked to the program.

Penn State targets off the board

We'll start today with the news that two official visit targets have committed to other programs. Five-star linebacker Zayden Walker committed to Georiga on Wednesday and shut down his recruitment before the Nittany Lions could get him on campus for an official visit this weekend.

Earlier, cornerback Graceson Littleton committed to Clemson shortly after visiting Happy Valley for his OV to start the month. How big of a blow are these misses for the program? We'll briefly discuss these topics to start the show.

Official Visit Weekend Preview

Despite some of the setbacks, Penn State still hosts an impressive list of talent this weekend. Here's the list of players traveling to campus for the second official visits extravaganza.

Kainoa Winston

Phillip Bell

Jayden Woods

Jeff Exinor

Jarquez Carter

Matthew Outten

Nolan Davenport

Josh Johnson

Amory Hills

Rashad Johnson

Recruiting experts Ryan Snyder and Sean Fitz will discuss this group, which players stand out, and why. We'll also review the feedback from last weekend's crop of players, including top cornerback prospect Brandon Finney, Cedric Works, and more.

Prospect camp review and preview

There's a crush of recruiting information at this point in the cycle, so we won't get all the news and information you need about today's show. That's why it's so vital that you subscribe to Blue White Illustrated and get the info from Synder and Fitz. With two prospect camps last weekend and two more scheduled for this coming one, over 500 prospects are heading to campus in a calendar week.

So, which names do you need to know? Our experts review the performances from last week and preview the upcoming camps to discuss the important players to Penn State's recruiting efforts in 2026 and beyond.

Penn State football will host nine wide receivers in June for its official visit slate. While all share similar traits, not every receiver is built the same or plays the same. Today, we're counting down the top five players we like the most out of this group. Join BWI Live at 10 a.m. on YouTube as Sean Fitz and T-Frank count down their favorite wideouts.

Penn State's list of potential commits

For those unfamiliar with Penn State's official visit list, here's the group in no particular order.

Jeff Exinor

Matthew Outten

Lex Cyrus

Quincy Porter

Corey Simms

Philip Bell

Tazz Williams

Naeshaun Montgomery

Samari Reed

As you may have noticed, today's prompt is not to list them for their potential or to list which player is 'best'. Instead, we're going off of personal preference. During that process, we'll hopefully learn more about the players today's hosts select and why they like them.

Which player is your favorite? Put your reply below in the YouTube comments section, or join the conversation on the Lions Den Message forum!
