We welcome Jim Shockey back on the podcast to discuss his new novel Call Me Hunter. Jim has been the face of hunting for decades and recognizes the need for hunters to garner more acceptance by the non-hunter before we lose our privilege to hunt. He sees his novel as an opportunity to gain that acceptance by showing that hunters are much more than plaid and a fire-arm. Jim discusses how Jack Carr's writings have paved that way and he is hoping to further break down barriers with his writing.
As a boy Jim had visions of completing a novel and that dream has become a reality. he discusses his life journey and how it has taken a lifetime of experience to bring that novel to fruition. He talks during the podcast about the book being 80% truth and 20% fiction.
The genesis is Call Me Hunter, part one of a two-part novel agreement. Jim articulates how this novel can and will change the greater public perception of hunters if it achieves the success he hopes it will. He also discusses why it is important that we as hunters need to support this book now. Be sure to search for "Call Me Hunter" and order your copy today.
