The licensing regime has been a huge burden on taxi drivers for decades. The emergence of the so-called ride-sharing apps like Uber and GrabTaxi has surfaced this problem more acutely.  We ask SPAD why the government doesn't rise up to the challenge of beating these apps at their game by reducing rent-seeking practices.
