Campfire: Tales of the Strange and Unsettling

Every Friday we pack our unanswered questions into the canoe and paddle across the lake to see if our friend, The Village Tarot Witch can help us get to the bottom of this!

In 1892 the Berger family moved into their new Victorian home with high hopes for their future. Unfortunately, their time was cut short when a fire erupted in the upper level of the home, taking with it most of the house and the family itself. Shortly after, a new family moved in. It wasn't long before they received more than they had bargained for when the family patriarch's personality changed almost instantly; no longer being recognized by his friends and family as the kind and loving man they once knew him to be. This was followed by a rotating door of tenants in the home, all claiming to experience unexplainable and bizarre happenings. Join us as we tell the story and detail the events that have taken place in the Monroe House in Hartford City, Indiana.

Just 25 miles southeast of Chicago, Gary, Indiana is an post-industrial city on the shores of Lake Michigan. This week’s tale is one of terror, economic strife, and demonic possession. The Ammons family experienced fly infestations, disembodied children’s laughter and barking, shadow figures, and unexplained wet boot prints. This experience culminated in the apparent possession of all but one member of the family. Long after their departure, the house’s diabolical occupants would bring permanent bodily injury to one of the most famous names in the paranormal field.

At midday on December 13, 2009, Steven Koecher (born November 1, 1979) parked at the end of a cul-de-sac in the Anthem neighborhood of Henderson, Nevada United States, and got out of his car, an action recorded on a nearby home's security camera. After returning shortly afterwards, Koecher retrieved an unknown object from the vehicle and walked away, with another security camera capturing his reflection in a car window. He has not been seen since, although some activity was recorded on his cell phone over the next two days. This week, we’re diving headlong into this bizarre mystery. Join us!

At midday on December 13, 2009, Steven Koecher (born November 1, 1979) parked at the end of a cul-de-sac in the Anthem neighborhood of Henderson, Nevada United States, and got out of his car, an action recorded on a nearby home's security camera. After returning shortly afterwards, Koecher retrieved an unknown object from the vehicle and walked away, with another security camera capturing his reflection in a car window. He has not been seen since, although some activity was recorded on his cell phone over the next two days. This week, we’re diving headlong into this bizarre mystery. Join us!
