In the winter of 1959, nine experienced hikers died in a remote section of the Ural Mountains. The mysterious nature of these deaths was compounded by the cloak and dagger nature of the Soviet government. Details of the event were kept under lock and key until the collapse of the Soviet Union in August of 1991. In the records we found that the nine victims were found scattered all over the mountainside in various states of undress and having suffered all manor of injury from deep frostbite to sever internal damage and missing tongues. This mystery became so ubiquitous throughout Europe and Asia that, in 2019, the Russian government officially reopened the investigation. Join us as we try to answer some of our lingering questions through the use of tarot.

This week, we have decided to return to one of our favorite and most intriguing and mysterious cases we have discussed to date, Dyatlov Pass. Like we have done with other earlier episodes, we have completely redone the episode, added sound design, and will focus our next Camp Divination episode to uncover further information and hopefully answer our lingering questions about this case. Two years ago this month, we lost a true giant in the world of modern American folklore. John Edmonds was a true badass and a brilliant storyteller. I’m honor of him and the impact that he had on our weird little world, we bring you a reimagining of our episode from September of 2021, Stardust Ranch. ⠀

Nestled in the eerie expanse of Rainbow Valley, Arizona, Stardust Ranch looms as a beacon of the bizarre. For 30 years, it’s former owners, John and Joyce Edmonds spun tales that consistently chilled the spine of even the most seasoned ghost hunters and ufologists. Since laying claim to this peculiar patch of desert in the 1990s, they were thrust into an uncanny narrative filled with UFOs darting across the night sky, ghostly lights that dance where no light should be, and spine-tingling encounters with beings from beyond our understanding. Dubbed the "Alien Ranch," this eerie homestead has become infamous for its spectral showdowns, with Edmonds himself recounting sword battles with extraterrestrials in a bid to protect his unearthly estate.

Known to locals as the Fouke Monster, this elusive being has been the subject of hundreds of sightings, leaving behind a trail of intrigue and speculation. Through the examination of interviews with eyewitnesses and exploration of the dense, eerie swamps where the creature is said to dwell, we attempt to make sense of this strange and enigmatic beast of the south. Join us around the witch’s campfire as we seek to understand the unknown and question the very nature of reality and determine if there really is something to the legend of the Fouke Monster.
