In this edition of Locked on Capitals Dan talks about the Capitals win over the Toronto Maple Leafs Saturday night. It was a game that saw Capitals blueliner Erik Gustafsson score a hat trick. Erik has only scored 3 goals all season and he scored all 3 Saturday night against the Leafs. In some bad news from the game TJ Oshe left the game early in what can only be called an "upper-body" injury. Oshie has already missed a lot of time this year, so it's not ideal. The Capitals got the win by beating their former goalie Ilya Samsonov

In the next segment Dan talks about the great play by Connor McMichael in Hershey. Connor wasn't able to find a permanent spot on the Capitals roster, but is getting plenty of time playing for the Hershey Bears. Through 14 games so far in the AHL, McMichael has 5 goals and 3 assists for eight points, and he is averaging .57 points per game, which puts him on pace for 41 points with the Bears this year.

In the last segment Dan talks about Alex Ovechkin's goal chase of Gordie Howe and eventually Wayne Gretzky. Ovi currently has 800 goals and only needs one more to tie Howe. Ovi and company play Howe's former team The Red Wings Monday night
