Y'all, what an incredibly delightful afternoon spent with Fr. Savoie! In true Can I Getta Amen fashion, we cover a wide variety of topics. From his journey to the priesthood to the struggle of forgiving ourselves, and Susan Lucci love to Saint Thomas Aquinas 😆, we rediscover that holiness is not for the weak.
Recently celebrating his 9 year ordination anniversary, Fr. Savoie brings so much truth and joy to the studio along with a 'plethora of useless information'. 😆 Let him hit you with ALL the AMENs!
📖 Isaiah 6:8 “I then heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me!”

In this episode of Can I Getta Amen, we journey with the beautiful Sarah Baquet into the discovery and deepening of her faith. Growing up Catholic, she felt a call from an early age to be a missionary and serve the poor. Sarah tells us about the many different holy "influencers" on her faith and how these courageous people inspired her to pursue what God put on her heart. What blew us away even more is the depth of Sarah's knowledge on theology, Catholic social doctrine, and the beauty of love.
You will want to tune into this one if you wrestle with justice, suffering, and just need some inspiration for this journey we call faith. We can't wait for her to come back later this month to talk to us more about her personal story and the wonderful work of Catholic Charities of Acadiana where she is Community Engagement Coordinator.

KEEYAW Ya'll... Our latest episode of Can I Getta Amen podcast features a good ole #CajunCollab with our friends from Cajun Kingdom of Priests podcast. Our hope is this episode will bring awareness to origins of the priesthood, the Living Sacrifice that exists within the lay life, and so much more. This chat is filled with all the good stuff.
📖 Romans 12: 1-2. "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

It’s been about a year since we have had Diana Vallett on the mic, and we are so grateful she is back. It would be easy to say that the theme of this episode is shifting, as it is a word you will hear all throughout. Diana herself speaks of the “shifts” she has experienced in the past year: shifting from mourning to healing, from a steady online presence to taking a back seat, from holding on too tight to learning to let go, from being distracted to being more attentive to the souls around her. And she speaks of what these shifts require…death. Because, as we have just witnessed during the Triduum…from death comes beautiful life! We hope after hearing this episode, you can allow Easter to transform you too!
📖 2 Corinthians 12: 8-10
Three times I begged the Lord to have it leave me, but he answered me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.”Hence, I will boast most gladly of my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell within me. For this reason, I rejoice when I endure weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and distress for the sake of Christ. For it is when I am weak that I am strong.

"Do we live our lives or do our sins live our lives?" (Father Korey LaVergne)
Alleluia! Christ is risen! We are back with our regular episodes, and there is no better way to start off than with Father Korey LaVergne, with a capital V. This wonderful spiritual father is UNAFRAID to speak the truth about our brokenness and our need for God's restoring mercy and love. (We believe it has something to do with the radioactive pop tart he ate as a child.) Regardless, it was a gift to hear about healing from one who is truly allowing the Lord to heal his own heart. Join us, and let God recreate you too!
Check out Fr. Korey's talk Love Thy Enemy on youtube.

Ignoring, rejecting, or showing indifference to the Blessed Virgin Mary is the 10th way the devil oppresses us. Satan fears Mary. He knew she had power when Christ was dying for our sins on the Cross and He said to all Christians represented in John the Beloved Disciple standing at the foot of the Cross "Behold your Mother." If you take her as your mother she will bind you to Our Father in loving obedience to His will.
📖John 19:25-27 : Standing near the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing beside her, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home
