Christmas is like a box of chocolate, you never know how this time of year will make you feel! Most of us feel joy, happiness, excitement, and anticipation for all things Christmas. But what happens when a feeling of sadness enters into your spirit? When the bitter sweet feelings of joy are matched by the grief of another year gone by...the realization nothing will be the same next year...It's amazing how one thought can send us into a tailspin of all the emotions. That is the cost of love...Love of our life as it is, love for our families and the love of Christmas time. Many of us love it so much, we don't want to see any of it end.
Join us as we discuss these things and Kaya's newest read, "The Obstacle is the Way" by Ryan Holiday.

The Christmas season is one that we look forward to in anticipation of all the gift giving, time with loved ones and all the traditions that help us to celebrate the true reason for the season. What happens when we let the chaos and the stress of the season overshadow the joy we are meant to feel? In episode 12, we talk about the black hole of Black Friday and other stressors that fight to steal our joy this Christmas. We can keep our peace by allowing the madness to call us into simple living through our mind, body and spirit so that we can shed the weight that we carry around, especially during the holiday season.

Broadcasting live from Kristi's closet, we discuss having an attitude of gratitude in preparation of Thanksgiving this week. There is no tornado coming, we just wanted to change it up and supposedly the acoustics are better in a closet :) We share our Top 3 gratitude list and challenge all of you to share yours with a friend this Thanksgiving season! Get ready cause we jam out to Little Drummer Boy by Pentatonix for a good minute during our chat.
Here is the quote that inspired our episode!
"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend." Melody Beattie

"The effect you have on others is the most valuable currency there is." In Episode 10, we dive into all the gems from Jim Carrey's commencement speach at MUM in 2014. We pull all of the wonderful nuggets from finding our authentic selves and battling the enemy that is our own ego. We can find success in this life and be on the mountaintop, but still feel as though we are in the valley...Because until we find our essence and are brave enough to show people who we truly are, we are never really free to live.
Get your Polynesian sauce or ketchup ready, cause this episode is full of ALL the nuggets!

We're Back!!!! Thanks for the patience while we were living in the hustle of life...Welcome to episode nine, "we lookin fine", cause we didn't know what to call this one. It really has nothing to do with how we look on the outside, but more about what is going on with our insides...and even a look inside our crazy worlds right now. We discuss the collateral damage that breeds in chaos, causing us to doubt ourselves,, lose our peace, stop practicing love and forget our ability to set healthy boundaries for ourselves. The only remedy for living in chaos is found in deliberate attempts to press pause and reflect in our day about what is going right and what we currently have to be grateful for. This episode is where we let loose on our struggles for the past couple of weeks as we try to find that balance in our lives of work, family, friends and God. Thanks for tuning in!.

In Episode 8 of Can I Getta Amen, we discuss the choice we have to press the pause button and respond instead of react when we find ourselves in conflict or miscommunication. Because of the holiday season coming upon us, we felt it was the perfect time to review and remind ourselves of the leadership lessons we've learned over the last couple of years. It's often the simplest tools that make the biggest impact in our everyday lives and this episode is full of our favorites. We discuss CLASS-Y communication as well as the Cycle of Transformation.

Our life takes many twists and turns. It's not until we look back on our own journey that we get a glimpse of the story God is writing with our lives. In this episode of Can I Getta Amen, we talk with our friend and mentor, Monica Rougeau of Elevare. Elevare is a transformative leadership development company that helps professionals tap into their highest potential. To put it plainly, Monica has a way of helping others see their value before they see it for themselves. She attributes this to her own journey to authenticity and discovering her purpose through many of life's trials and lessons working in corporate healthcare.

In episode 6 of Can I Getta Amen, we discuss the importance of community and how important it is to follow through on those little nudges we get...Whether it's to reach out to someone, to lend a hand when someone is sick, to pray when we see another person struggling...or whatever the case may be... all of these seemingly small actions are really big things in the making. When we authentically show up by saying yes to that call on our heart, others gets the best of us AND the benefits of the unique gifts that only we can offer. So stay tuned for all that and a little bit more. We sure do want to thank YOU for being here with us!
