Canes Corner

The Canes played their game to perfection. The rookie got his first NHL goal. And the Canes beat the Devils for their first win of the season.

Canes conceded two power play goals to Tampa Bay and dropped the season opening game for the first time in 6 years.

Yes, Eric Robinson had 2 goals and an assist and Freddie Andersen made 29 saves in just two periods.  But, with the preseason over, it's time to look ahead to the roster decisions and other matters facing the Canes as we head towards the start of the regular season on Friday.

Ghost thrills Canes with OT winner, 2-1.

Canes fall at home, but Felix Unger-Sorum and Bradly Nadeau hit the scoresheet.

Sean Walker scored on the power play and added two assists while Seth Jarvis scored twice as Carolina blasted Florida, 8-2. Freddie Andersen started in goal and 15 of Carolina's skaters registered at least one scoring point in the win.

The Canes open and the preseason campaign and beat Tampa Bay tonight, 2-1.

The Carolina Hurricanes completed their summer of contract signings with arguably their most important return.  Seth Jarvis, the breakout star of 2024, signed an 8-year extension that will pay him $63.2 million over the life of the contract.  Even though the average number is $7.9 million, the deal will only count for just over $7.4 million against the cap.  I'll explain how, we'll discuss how the team approached the summer and the bad news on Jesper Fast.

Martin Necas is back with the Canes.  He signed a 2-year deal worth $13 million.  Now what?  And, how does this impact negotiations with Seth Jarvis?

Busy week for the Hurricanes.  Evgeny Kuznetsov is heading back to Russia.  Jack Drury agreed to a 2-year deal.  Negotiations continue with Seth Jarvis.  And what is the status of Jesper Fast?  All that and more in a very quick session.
