Nghamula Chauke speaks to two young women from Limpopo regarding their work that was featured in News24 feature called“100 Young Mandelas 2023”. This as a way of celebrating the rich legacy left by Madiba. Chauke looked at the journey and work of Makungu Valoyi, a mental health advocate and Mulalo Nemataheni who is known for her community work.

South Africa continues to witness high divorce rate and there are always legal hurdles when it comes to them. This prompted Nghamula Chauke to sit with legal analyst Attorney Mike Maiwashe to look at the hurdles that come with one deciding to divorce. Maiwashe states several common reasons that spouses give as cause for separation.

The South African Human Rights Commission in Limpopo says it is shocked by the situation at the Paarl water waste treatment plant outside Lephalale. A delegation led by the Provincial Manager Victor Mavhidula together with officials including from the Lephalale Municipality visited the plant and found it in a bad state. Speaking to Nghamula Chauke, Mavhidula said they needed to investigate whether the situation they found placed people's lives at risk.

SAMWU in Limpopo says it intends to urgently engage ANC Provincial officials to express its displeasure with the handling of the Municipal Systems Amendment Act by some ANC Regions. This comes after the union received numerous enquiries regarding its stance on letters received from municipalities and regions. The Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa in Limpopo says shortage of nurses continues to overstretch and expose nurses to the risk of being unable to discharge their responsibilities. This follows the recent termination of the contracts of 706 nurses employed during the height of COVID-19. DENOSA Limpopo Chairperson Lesiba Monyaki told Nghamula Chauke that the organisation is angered by the step taken by the Health department in Limpopo in the midst of gross shortage of nurses. While Neil Shikwambana from the provincial department of health explained the process followed by the department.

The Health Department in Limpopo is concerned about leaked official documents about the awarding of a coal tender at hospitals without coal boilers. This follows revelations by the CONLEF Foundation that they suspect activities of corruption after whistleblowers furnished them with tender documents. Nghamula Chauke engages the CONLEF Chairperson Conty Lebepe and Health Department spokesperson Neil Shikwambana.

There are calls for Deputy President Paul Mashatile to take the country into his confidence. This is after a news report which says he is linked to various businesspeople who are accused of plundering public resources through state capture and corruption. There is always excitement when a young person scores a job opportunity, but the excitement can be short lived especially if one is not responsible with their finances. In the spirit of Youth Month, Nghamula Chauke had a discussion with Financial Advisor Nyiko Nghatsane about financial literacy in young people especially now when the world is facing tough economic times.

University of Limpopo academics, Dr Tebogo Kekana and Dr Edward Montle argue that the South African judiciary has not transformed adequately in the use of indigenous languages. In their research paper the academics say the courts have an over-reliance in the use of English even in circumstance that would allow indigenous languages. Speaking to Nghamula Chauke, co-author of the paper Dr Tebogo Kekana said the overuse of the English language is an injustice on indigenous languages.

Nghamula Chauke speaks to DA Limpopo suspended Youth Leader Tiego Thotse and DA Limpopo provincial leader Lindy Wilson following a call by the youth leader for the provincial chairperson, Jacque Smalle, to withdraw from the new leadership collective. A group led by Thotse has called for Smalle to quit because he has failed previously as a provincial leader and the party experienced electoral loss under his leadership.
