The Statistician General Risenga Maluleke has raised concerns about the ongoing lootings taking place in various parts of the country. He said this will have a negative impact on the economy of the country and the poor will become poorer especially the vulnerable ones which are women and children. Speaking to Nghamula Chauke, Maluleke called for calm during these trying times saying these protests and lootings will leave a trail of destruction and many people will lose their lives.

The state capture commission of inquiry has accused former President Jacob Zuma of abusing the courts, this after he asked the Pietermaritzburg High Court to order police to hold off on arresting him pending the outcome of his rescission application in the Constitutional Court. Nghamula Chauke spoke to Legal Expert Mpumelelo Zikalala who said the former Head of State is just playing delay tactics.

A movement calling itself Pastors Against Church Closure is calling on the government to review the adjusted Level 4 lockdown regulations and open churches because many people are succumbing to depression as opposed to the covid-19 virus. Speaking to Nghamula Chauke, the Limpopo Chairperson of the movement Apostle Mightyman Manganyi said it is sad that everytime when government decides to impose lockdown regulations, some church organisations are not consulted except the South African Council of Churches which he accused of being a sell-out. Meanwhile, the SACC Chairperson in Limpopo Reverend Awedzani Nemaukwe disputed all the accusations.

Following the ruling of the constitutional court that former president Jacob Zuma was guilty of contempt of court and sentenced him to 15 months' imprisonment, there have been different reactions and views from the public. The apex court further ordered that Zuma pay the legal costs spent by the State Capture Inquiry in bringing the matter before the court on a punitive scale. Nghamula Chauke sought out the expert opinion of Prof Omphemetse Sibanda who is a professor of Law and the executive Dean of the faculty of management at the University of Limpopo.

The Department of Employment and Labour recently released directions on occupational health and safety measures in certain workplaces. The directions apply to all employers that are permitted to continue or begin business operations under the current Disaster Management Act regulations. Nghamula Chauke spoke to Labour Law expert Osborne Molatudi of Molatudi Advisory Services about the directions.

The ANC Limpopo Secretary Soviet Lekganyane said it is sad that the recent ANC BGMs have been infiltrated by acts of criminality and by people who are not even members of the party. Speaking to Nghamula Chauke, Lekganyane said these people should be tracked down and be brought to book by law enforcement officers. In a recent incident in Waterberg, 2 ANC members were shot and wounded during a Branch General Meeting and this is the 3rd incident to be reported in the province since the sittings of BGMs.

Officials from departments of Basic Education and Health say they are confident that the vaccine roll-out for teachers will go as planned. The Deputy Minister of Health Dr Joe Phaahla told Nghamula Chauke that several teacher unions were engaged on how this roll-out will pan out and there is overall satisfaction from all stakeholders.

The Department of Basic Education has urged teachers to be present at school as it prepares to begin its vaccine rollout. The department has set out to vaccinate its 582 000 teachers and school personnel within 10 working days. The country received a consignment of 300 000 doses of the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine last week. Nghamula Chauke engages the spokesperson of the department of Basic Education Elijah Mhlanga on readiness for the vaccination roll-out plan.

The ANC in Limpopo has decried the increasing cases of violence during its Branch General Meetings which has recently been reported in at least 3 regions. The party has indicated that it will take disciplinary action on those involved. This matter was also raised by the president of the party, Cyril Ramaphosa during the Norman Mashabane regional conference. Nghamula Chauke and Prof Kgothatso Shai from the Department of Cultural and Political Studies, University of Limpopo discussed these and some challenges facing the ANC in Limpopo.

Young people in the country are facing another pandemic which is unemployment. This was confirmed recently by Statistics South Africa that the official unemployment rate among youth was 46.3% in Q1 2021. This is what prompted Nghamula Chauke and Vodacom to have a panel discussion about Youth and Unemployment in the country. The panelists are: Frank Mokgolobotho, Minkie Ramabu and Lehlogonolo Mogale.
