When we choose to do what is right, we often expect the path to be smooth, but life has a way of testing our resolve. Troubles arise—whether it’s criticism, hardship, or unexpected setbacks—making us question if standing firm is worth the cost. Yet, it’s in these moments of trial that our faith is refined, and our character is strengthened.
One of the hardest verses in the bible to practice challenges us - "Consider it joy when we face trials, for they produce perseverance, leading us to maturity and completeness."
At times, our default reaction to tough times is usually the opposite of joy, but God's Word is true and if we endure something powerful always happens in our life. Persevering through troubles for doing the right thing isn’t just about enduring; it’s about trusting that God is at work, shaping us and our circumstances for His glory.
This week we were back in Acts 14 and saw how Paul and Barnabas, not only endured trials, but were able to overcome them and experience the power of God in the midst of them in a message called, “Sticks and Stones”.
