It's easy to look at our surroundings or at our current place in the world and to doubt whether we can actually be the change that's needed. Our workplaces feel too dark. Our schools might feel too dark. Our corners might feel too dark.

And often what that does is it puts a desire in us to leave the darkness in search of the light when the reality is that we are called to BE the light in the midst of the darkness.

This week we're breaking down the lies that tell us we can't and instead pressing into the truth that tells us we must, by looking at the calling of all believers in The Great Commission. Part of what we're going to see is that our purpose is always tied to people, and when your purpose is people any setting is the perfect setting to be used by God. Tune into this week’s message, “Exactly Where I Need To Be.”

When was the last time you had a good cry? Were you watching a movie that you became emotionally attached to and the tragic death of a character moved you? 

We cry for a lot of different reasons and we think it's only about releasing and expressing emotions. But God's Word tells us that our tears are way more powerful than that, if we know what to do with them.

"Those who sow in tears, will reap in shouts of joy!" Psalm 126:5

This week we jumped into the scripture that gave us the Corner Card, Mark 5 as Jesus heals the man known as the "demoniac." Jesus heals a very lonely guy. This man then wants to go follow his new friend and mentor Jesus. But Jesus tells him, "No, you need to go home instead." This seems very cold from Jesus, "Have a heart Lord!" This man probably felt some serious FOMO. But upon further investigation, Jesus wasn't keeping him out but sending him out so others wouldn't miss out. 

As we have been talking about in our series through Acts, Jesus does not want us to remain forever in the church building or the church bubble. Instead, He sends us out into the wild on the most exciting journey to share our faith with not just the world, but "our world." This week we talked about how to do that, as we walked through the Corner Card in a message called "Fix My FOMO."

The story of study for this week lets us witness perhaps the most radical transformation in human history. Saul the murderer, becomes Paul, the guy who wrote 1 Corinthians 13 that teaches us that "Love never fails." Same guy. That's ridiculous. Surely the budget to renovate Saul's soul was much too large to anyone not named Jesus (or Stephen). But how did it happen? 

Often in life we love the idea of transformation. We get excited about renovating our house, our body, our budget, etc. But then we find how much work and sacrifice will need to go into it and... we don't always want the change so badly anymore. Often we want the life of Jesus without the lifestyle of Jesus, what it takes to actually get there. This week we jumped into Acts 9 and talked all about it in a message I am calling "How We Transform."
