We investigate how mining companies can make a meaningful contribution to a net zero carbon economy. All three companies feed into the battery metals thematic as potentially large nickel producers. Two them have come up with an innovative way of absorbing carbon from the atmosphere as they mine their resources. And we also discuss what conventional miners can do to help the image of the industry with investors. Technology, ESG, carbon neutrality, zero carbon and net zero are all part of the narrative, but we talk about what real and fundamental change looks like and what is just green-washing.
