Bernie Miklasz spent this season pounding the table for the Cardinals to call up Joshua Báez, and in this video he says out loud that he was wrong. What changed his mind was a three-week collapse in Memphis that almost nobody outside the organization was tracking.
Báez did not make the trip to Wrigley Field, and the frustration from Cardinals fans has gotten loud enough that some are threatening to stop buying tickets until he is promoted.
Bernie walks through why the rookie eligibility clock is no longer a reason to wait, what Chaim Bloom's player development group has been quietly rebuilding in Báez's swing since July, and the one vulnerability Triple-A pitchers are still exploiting that would get exposed immediately at the major league level.
