13. Get all of the animals into comfortable cages.  There are 24 cats, 2 B&W Lemurs and 10 Ringtailed Lemurs & civit waiting for permanent pens.

Make WOES self sufficienta.  Political support via supporting candidates who are likely to be leaders.b.  Public support through public appearances.c.  Strengthen volunteer program and empower its leaders.d.  Advertise more wisely, locally and abroad.e.  Improve Web Site for global recognition of name and mission.f.  Improve cabin facilities to include rest rooms, cable T.V.’s, phones, and to be more safe for the overnight cat.g.  Team up with large businesses that need the publicity of supporting a wildlife cause.

15. Install barricades to bring refuge into State compliance by the year 2000 and to allow more freedom of movement of guests without increasing liability.  This will increase our ability to tour groups with children.

16. Public Restroom facilities for toilets, sinks and showers.

17. Change all pens that are required to be changed by the year 2000 ie:  All Leopard cages (14) must have roofs, Tiger pens and Lion pens (5 ac) must have a 4 foot 45 degree overhangs around the outside walls and Cougars (14) must have one or the other.

18. Install hot wire around perimeter fence to insure cats stay in.

19. Secure perimeter fences to decrease possibility of poachers coming in.

20. Secure parking lot from the rest of the facility so as to keep guests from driving in and wandering off un-escorted.  Install a more heavy duty electronic gate and put old one on parcel next door.

21. Secure gift shop items so that they can be seen and purchased but not stolen.  Check auctions and classifieds for locking glass cabinets.

22. Secure front gate with T.V. Monitors so that from inside we can tell who is at the gate and if anyone is helping them.

23. Improve access road and internal roads.

24. Stage lighting for the Wild Eyes At Night Tours which would double to help in emergency.

25. Install an audio system capable of playing music, announcements and paging staff.

26. Build Visitor Center resembling a huge Tiki hut on beach with rustic palm shaded dock and deck overlooking the lake.  This will be where Caracals are now, so we will need eight more cages.a.   It can serve as an auditorium and meeting hall for us and for rent.b.   It can be used as a dining hall (with permanent kitchen for guests, staff & volunteers).c.   It can be a museum that can be rented out.  The museum would house the mounted animals who have died here and feature skins, sku

Hurricane Georges is passing over the Keys today and 250 lay dead in its wake.  We have battened down the hatches here but I expect to be up through the night checking for trees blown over from the high winds.

 

He was late to work and his secretary didn’t show up, so he was agitated, but he took a few minutes to walk around the yard briefly and look the situation over.  He’s very bright and immediately recognized the need for more and better cabins, better  facilities to attract the money people and the political  powers I need.  As usual he got hung up on doing a survey first.  I don’t know what it is with him and surveys.  I know where my property lines are and I know where my buildings are and paying someone $3000.00 to tell me what I already know seems like a waste of time and money.

 

Maybe he has some reason he just hasn’t made clear to me yet.  His next two priorities seemed to be lighting the place up and roads.  These are needed, but, in my opinion, not as important as getting the cats comfortable.  I felt myself getting defensive because I have all of the unresolved issues with Don trying to sabotage my every effort and I don’t want to get into that again.  He noticed my left eye twitching as it does when I get upset and I brought to his attention the fact that he has the same problem with his left eye which is just too weird.  The last person I ever knew who had such a condition was Mary Mero my Jr. High English teacher.  He and I have so much in common.  I hope this is good but mostly it just feels weird.

 

Hurricane Georges was a powerful and long-lived Cape Verde-type Category 4 hurricane which caused severe destruction as it traversed the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico in September 1998, making seven landfalls along its path. Georges was the seventh tropical storm, fourth hurricane, and second major hurricane of the 1998 Atlantic hurricane season. It became the second most destructive storm of the season after Hurricane Mitch and the costliest Atlantic hurricane since Hurricane Andrew in 1992.

 

Georges killed 604 people, mainly on the island of Hispaniola, and caused extensive damage resulting at just under $10 billion (1998 US dollars, $14.1 billion 2015 USD) in damages mostly in St. Kitts and Nevis, Puerto Rico and Hispaniola.

 

The hurricane made landfall in at least seven different countries (Antigua and Barbuda, St. Kitts and Nevis, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Cuba and the United States) and Puerto Rico, a Commonwealth of the United States — more than any other hurricane since Hurricane Inez of the 1966 season.

I had spent all day yesterday checking out the Pasco County Tax Deeds sales for today.  I had agonized alone all day, knowing that Richard Martin would be with Zena tonight.  I just barely got through in time for church and still couldn’t get the thought of them out of my mind.  I went to the Fox telling myself I would check out Richard Martin’s theory about the miniature liquors and then I would have something to talk to him about the next day.  Who was I kidding?

 

I felt abandoned and unwanted and needed to have some stranger fawn over me to reassert my self esteem.  I walked in and except for one other couple was the only person at the bar.  I guess I’d be buying my own drink tonight.  Could I drown my sorrows in my one glass limit of house red wine?  Two men came in with an obviously drunk blonde bimbo and a third came in at about the same time.  He went into the kitchen and spoke with the bartender as if perhaps they were fellow employees.  He told Tommy to send me another drink if I’d just smile.

 

I waited a few moments to say anything to him.  He was my age, full of himself and no one I thought a challenge, but there was no one else there.  I walked over and assured him I was not having a bad day and I deliberately placed my hand on his back as I leaned close and spoke.  I didn’t know him 15 minutes before he was telling me and everyone else who would listen how much he loved me.  I just hate that.  He doesn’t know a thing about me.  He wants to come be a volunteer with the Tigers.  I hope he forgets.

 

A tall slender, balding man came in and obviously knew Michael Saylor.  He was with a striking blonde who was virtually wrapped around him.  He took my hand to shake it and introduce himself as Jim Harringer?  I don’t let people touch me and I never touch them without considering the effect that usually has.  He was so quick to grab my hand that now as he stood there, my hand in his, I felt to pull away would be rude.

 

He seemed to take on that familiar lost in time look.  He just kept holding my hand and staring deep into my eyes.  His date reached up and literally turned his face to hers and said something inaudible.   Ignoring her, he turned back to me as if he were just speechless.  This gives me such a sense of power.  I don’t know what it is, but this was the boost my bruised ego needed.  I could leave now.  And did.

 

When I got home Richard Martin paged and my heart leapt.  Could this mean that he was not going to be wrapped in her arms tonight?  Or had she just excused herself to take a shower and he was now using the opportunity to make sure I was home alone like I should be?  He was agitated that he had been unable to reach me and said he had left an angry message on my cell phone.  I don’t know how to use the thing yet, so I couldn’t play the message back.  I talked to him until late in the night.

 

All of these things were replaying in my mind as I drove all over Pasco County today.  I got the mobile home lot I wanted, managed to raise enough cash in town to pay for it without having to drive back to Tampa, and was on my way to do some research on a judgment for Richard Martin in Brooksville.  I stopped back by the lot to put up a For Sale sign and to photograph the lot for my files.  I was thinking about the little Voice in my head that was assuring me that I could live with anyone, but the one I should choose is the one I could not live without.  As I was trampling down killer sand spurs and talking on the cell phone to Richard Martin he said, “Tell me something good” and everything inside me wanted to say, “I love you, Richard Martin.  That’s something good”.  Instead I told him I was going to have to bite my tongue to keep from telling him what was on my mind.  I hung up so frustrated.

 

On the way home from Spring Hill I argued with the little Voice, as I am prone to do.  It kept telling me to call him up and proclaim my love.  It kept insisting that I may never have the opportunity again

Yesterday Jamie came into my room crying that Jim Moore was being hateful to her.  Because of Daniel Capiro she and Jim Moore have been at each other’s throats since last year.  I am usually there at feeding time to referee, but since I have been spending my evenings with Richard Martin, they have been going at each other pretty steadily.

 

Jamie said I never defend her and that she has to work so hard for me and these animals and then put up with being called names by volunteers and getting no respect from them.  I cried with her.  I do ask way too much of her.  I wrote Jim Moore a letter telling him to knock it off or get out.  I was depressed when I met with Richard Martin and as I came through his office door, he handed me two bouquets of soft peach coloured roses.  One was for me and the other for Jamie.  I almost cried.

 

In his helpful, if not overbearing way, he commenced to telling me everything I should say to her.  He asked why I laughed and I explained; because that was exactly, almost verbatim, what I had said to her.  It is so weird how we respond so similarly to situations.  I had bought Air Purifiers for his office and the lake house and the condo, because the dust is so bad I can’t breathe in these places.

 

He kept saying he wanted to pay for them but I told him he could pay for the electricity to run them and I would pay for the units, since I was the only one benefitting from them.  He got really adamant about paying for it so I told him he could donate the amount to the cats and he did on one unit.

 

We went to the California Club where he told the valet that he usually parked right by the door and was allowed to do so.  He insists that he rarely comes here and that he pulls that sort of thing just to see if he can get away with it.  The people there were older and just as “plastic” as the younger set we watched at Stormin’s.  All these people looking for love in all the wrong places.  He pointed out to me the sort of women he would be attracted to and it made me wonder what on earth he saw in me.

 

They were petite and conservative to the point of boring.  Petite, I understand.  Every man I have ever known wanted a woman he could carry under one arm.  (It must go back to the cave man mentality.)  Conservative is another issue altogether.  He likes to be high profile, noticed and remembered.  He said when he dies there will be a provision in his will that pays mourners to wail for his passing so that it will be the biggest funeral of all time.  As someone who is often in the spotlight, I am thankful that when I am with him, it is on him.  I can relax when I don’t feel like every word out of my mouth is subject to end up on the front page of the Metro section of the St. Pete Times.

 

Speaking of which, at the Brown Dog later that evening I ordered the lamb, which happened to be the same thing the man at the table next to me had ordered.  Richard Martin, always quick to converse with people he doesn’t know, asked the man what fine dining experience he would compare the Brown Dog to.  They went from there to a discussion about real estate developing and politics and they came to find out they knew each other by name although not by sight.

 

The guy’s name was George ? and he is the attorney for the St. Pete Times and a developer of commercial real estate in downtown St. Pete.   He owns the building next to my Anderson House, the Kress building and apparently quite a few renovated old buildings.  We went from there to have a drink at Bennigan’s.  I had already had my one wine limit so Richard Martin ordered a double Gin and Tonic.

 

We finished the discussion on swinging that we had started last week and I believe he understands how I feel about it.  He said that, of course, he would not offer me a smoke or a drink or anything else that would cause me to fall.  He said that he was only making an observation about the gay woman from the Farm Store and that in no way did he mean it as a suggestion th

Today was my big day in court! 

Twenty one of my Guardian Angel properties were released from the Conservatorship.  The Stipulations entered into between the children and Anne McQueen and I were all ratified and the long and short of it was that the kids get to manage the PRSL Trust and I manage the GALTA Trusts and the Don Lewis accounts and only have to provide the quarterly accountings now to the Co-Conservator and the kids.  Anne McQueen gives back everything that wasn’t hers and I give her $65,000.00 including her Attorney’s fees.  Such a huge burden has been lifted from me.

 

This morning after talking with Richard Martin on his way to work at 6:00 am I thought back to the prayer I had prayed last month.  I was going forward to trial and was expecting the conflict of my life to try and protect the business I had worked so hard to nurture.  I was lonesome, frightened and absolutely exhausted.  I prayed that God would give me relief and comfort on my way home from church and that little voice said, “Pick up the paper. That will make you feel better.”

 

I doubted it would make me feel better, but I did want to research the ad section, so rather than argue, I picked up a copy.  Here it is Sunday, the day Don and I used to lay in bed and read the paper and really enjoy each other and I felt more lonesome than ever.  The little voice told me the Personals would comfort me and I argued that seeing how desperate and lonely everyone else is wouldn’t help me to feel better about myself.

 

The little voice was persistent and I finally gave in just to quiet the noise in my head, when Richard Martin’s ad jumped off the page at me.  That prayer was uttered on August 9 and on August 18 I first spoke to Richard Martin, and on August 28 Don’s kids and I settled our great battle and then on September 9 Anne McQueen and I settled our huge war and now, just 5 and ½ weeks later, I have been fully blessed with the relief and comfort I prayed for.  God is so good to me!  I think I’ll probably sleep for three days straight!

Richard Martin asked me to be screened again for HIV and sexually transmitted diseases.  I had done so after Don left and should be tested every six months.  He offered to pay for it, but it is something I need to do anyway.  I bought the sound track from the Titanic, “Love Will Go On” sung by Celine Dion because he says he loves it so much.  I was thinking on the way home, listening to the tape that I think of him in every love song.  One in particular, “The Reason” should be dedicated to him.

 

I’ve thought a lot about our discussion regarding the swinging lifestyle and concluded that if he wants to experience it in his lifetime, it should be now, but not with me.  As a recovering alcoholic what kind of person would he be to coax me into a drink?  As an ex-smoker what kind of person would blow smoke in my face and tell me just a time or two won’t hurt?  As a Christian woman with strong homosexual desires what kind of person would encourage me to violate God’s law and my own conscience?  If satisfying a fantasy is more important than my soul then there isn’t much value to my soul.

 

He called me tonight to tell me that his tenant who rents the Farm Store is a very beautiful bi-sexual swinger.  Why call and tell me that other than in an attempt to pique my curiosity and hopefully arrange for himself a threesome?  As if to try and run me off he canceled our dinner tonight, saying I was probably too busy and that he had to spend time with Patty.  He said he wants to see me Thursday because he has a date with Zena, the doctor, Wednesday as well.

 

I was crushed.  This is what I asked for but it hurts nonetheless.  Jamie came in and jammed my copier and I snapped at her.  She asked why the sudden moodiness and I realized I was behaving toward her the same way I did when Don had me on edge.  I am not going to put her through that hell again.  No man’s affection is worth this roller coaster ride.

 

I fed the cats and cooled off.  Maybe he just doesn’t know God’s Word, although I thought everyone knew the story of Sodom and Gomorra.  1 Corinthians Chapter 6: Verse 9 says “Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God?  Do not be deceived:  Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders, nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.”  The inspired writer goes on in verse 18 to say “Flee from sexual immorality.  All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.  Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, who you have received from God?  You are not your own;  you were bought at a price.  Therefore honor God with your body.”

 

It gets even worse in Revelations Chapter 21 Verse 8 when God says “But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars- their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur.”      Proverbs 30: 5 says “Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.  Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.”     Surely I cannot have been so wrong about what a loving man he is.  He wouldn’t purposely hurt me.

 

As much as I study the Word, I couldn’t find until last night with Mommajack at church the passage that commands my attendance in church three times a week.  The scripture actually says we are not to forsake the assembly of brethren and that is subject to the days and times the brethren choose, which is at our convenience, with the exception of the commandment to meet on the Lord’s Day and take communion.  It is in Hebrews Chapter 10 verse 25 and I looked it up in my Greek translation to make sure the wording was correct:  “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but encouraging  one another; and so much mor

I went with Richard to the Lake house after work at 7:00 p.m.  He grilled lamb chops and Delmonico steaks on  the grill.  As much as I detest cooking, I enjoyed doing this with him.  His house keeper seems to have jumped ship and he was disturbed at her  lack of consideration.  I wish I knew someone for him.  He needs someone trustworthy and I need someone conscientious  enough to keep the place clean.  I am sitting on his floor at 2 in the morning waiting for some expired Benadryl tablets to take effect so that I can breathe.  Being allergic to fur, feathers, dust and mold, I can’t breathe within a couple hours of being here and that’s a shame.  This is the most romantic place I know and I just love being here and in Richard’s arms.  What more is there to life than this?

 

My eyes swell shut, my nose starts running and I have the overwhelming desire to claw my face off.  This isn’t very attractive.

 

We laid on the couch, facing each other, and with lotion, rubbed each other’s feet and legs and hands.  We got into some touchy topics tonight.  He asked about my first sexual encounter and I told I was raped at knife point by three men (Steve & Jim? Crabtree and George Minogue) when I was 14 (1976) and then I left home at 15 (1977) with my skate dancing partner, Jim Jones.

 

He started to ask about the rape and I went into the kitchen and trembling washed the dishes, hoping he would not ask again, when I returned. I was surprised to have such a strong reaction to the memory.   It felt like yesterday.  It seemed to have been the catalyst that launched a myriad of discovery questions about my sexuality.  I told him about Roy Persons and the swinging and he asked how I would feel about going up to Paradise Lakes for their Friday night dance.  I thought back to the night that he took me to hear the Jazz band and when I was dancing he had said that he thought I had exhibitionist qualities.  Was he looking for that extroverted sense of my sensuality in hopes to seeing me dance naked someday at Paradise Lakes?  My blood ran cold.

Richard Martin called me on his way to the office.  He said that they had talked a lot and that he had fallen asleep while she was still talking.  I envisioned the meat knife in the food prep room; the one that can cut through a chunk of beef with just one effortless stroke.  I felt the knife sink deep into my heart.  It’s strange that such a physical pain in the organ of the heart can be felt when the thought process is in the brain.  Why didn’t it feel like the blade was crashing through my brain?

 

I knew this was going to hurt, but I wasn’t prepared for the intensity.  I was choking on the “blood” gushing from my severed heart and into my lungs.  I couldn’t speak.  When I finally did, I had to change the subject.  I didn’t want to cry and give away to him how much this hurt.  He is too kind to inflict such injury and I fear he would forego doing the things he needs to do, or worse yet lie to me about it.  I hope that I can cope better with this as time goes on.  Today was going to be an test of that endurance because he had told me weeks ago that another woman, he used to work with,  had asked him to go to the Janet Jackson concert with him tonight, and then Patty was acting out her fatal attraction for him and wanted his attention tonight as well.

 

Around mid day he told me that he’d like to have an early dinner with me and then he would go with Patty and Tom Butler to the game and then he’d go to the concert.  I met him for dinner at 5:45 and we ate at the Brown Dog.  They were fully reserved so we ate before anyone was due to arrive and the Mahi Mahi was just wonderful.  Afterwards we returned to his office and were reading over Trust documents and Insurance policies and trusts.  I had been there for a couple hours and asked when I should be out of there so that I didn’t upset Patty and Richard said he had canceled everything.  I felt touched and yet guilty.  Had I let him know somehow how I felt?  Had he denied himself for my sake?  How am I ever going to be able to convince him that I am okay with his dating? It’s hard to sell something you don’t believe in.

 

Later on he introduced me to his long time friend, Tom Butler.  We met at Hooters and they ate chicken wings and watched the ball game.  Tom brought me up to speed on Richard’s past life.  The only woman who Richard had ever said had broken his heart was Mary.  Mary’s best friend was Becky, who was Tom’s great love as well.  Tom talked at length about all the good times the four of them had together and what wonderful women they were.  This was more than 10 years ago, but the affection was still very strong.

 

When we left there Richard and I went to Storman’s to watch the people.  We sat outside and sharing our observations  about the people who were coming and going at midnight.  I am so grateful that I don’t have to go through the silly pretenses that the general public does in search of love.  Are any of these people happy?  All the pretty girls, showing off their best features, hoping to lure “Mr. Right” and all the males sniffing around for a bitch in heat.  There’s not much in store for either party.

 

This was a great opportunity to get to know Richard better.  His casual observations about people and events tell me a lot about his thought process.  Even though we were sitting there taking inventory of all of the mini skirts, skin tight dresses and miracle bras, there was nothing lewd in his manner.  Rather than seeing this as a sensual fashion show, he seemed to approach it more like I do.  I see the outward presentation as a reflection of the person and I try to discover the whys that brought them to this place and time.  That’s not to say you can judge a book by its cover, but I think there are valid clues there.

 

We witnessed the tail end of a bar room brawl that ended up in the parking lot and had an interesting "argument” over how it should have been handled.  In typical fashion, I waited for him to give me a clue of what his stance w

He was in a happy mood and driving out to an eviction.  I love his attitude.  I drove to his condo that evening and he put a card on the windshield of my truck and told me I couldn’t read it until the following morning. He’s a great listener and is so open and honest with his own thoughts.  I cherish his honesty.  As he drove off to work the next morning I read the card that said, “With Loving Thoughts.  The times we’ve shared, the way you’ve cared, The loving things you do… All these are reasons why there’s love In every thought of you.”

 

When I came over last night, I brought him vitamin packets for the home and office because he had said that he wasn’t taking the vitamins as regularly as when he was dating the doctor.  This isn’t as well formulated for him, but I reasoned that taking some vitamins is better than not taking better vitamins.  When he bought the card, he didn’t know that I had bought the vitamins for him.  I haven’t even begun to show him how loving I can be and he sent this card thanking me?  I wanted to chase him down, pull him over in traffic and tell him I love him too.  I started fast out of the parking lot, but remembering that I had already made him late for work, figured I would wait until I saw him in person tonight.  I didn’t want to tell him by phone and I didn’t want to burst into his office and embarrass him in front of his staff.  I would wait until tonight and try to make it as memorable for him as for he had made his first admission of love to me.

 

He called me later in the day and said that he was going out with his friend, the doctor.  He asked how I felt about him doing that.  I couldn’t verbalize it well and faxed over the first nine pages of this journal.  He said she had called him wanting to rekindle the fire that had been smoldering for the last three weeks.  I have been telling him that I can make no claims on him due to my own marital status and that I want him to “play the field” so that when I can commit, he will know that he has made the best choice in me.

 

I want a monogamous relationship and I am willing to forego it now to insure it later.  There are no guarantees that dating other women now, would preclude him from dating other women later, but I don’t want him to have any regrets.  I can immediately recognize this relationship as being of great value, but I probably have had more offers and temptations just because I am a woman.

 

I tried to sound like it wouldn’t bother me and assured him that I thought his dating her, and others, was the best things for us in the long run.  He said he’d call me later that night.  I tried to amuse myself so that I wouldn’t think about how their evening was progressing, but midnight came and sleep did not.  The phone didn’t ring and I knew why.

I finally settled with Anne McQueen in the conservatorship case.  After two days, by 3:45 we were signing on the dotted line of our agreement.  Afterwards Anne McQueen said “I just want you to know you were right.”  Her attorney told her not to get into that.  I asked, “Right about what?”

 

Her attorney began to try and drag her out the door, telling her not to say any more.  Struggling against him and yelling over him she said, “I want you to know that every intuition you ever had, proved true!”  I still didn’t know what she meant and by now she was arguing with her attorney telling him to let her go and saying “she has the right to know!  If I were right about something this important I would hope she would care enough to tell me!”

 

I had argued most with her about Don’s mental ability.   I said he needed help.  I told her that Don’s kids would stab her in the back.  I told her that I thought Wendell Williams had killed Don.  Were all of these proven true to her?

 

2019: I research Anne McQueen’s name in SunBiz and find all of Wendell’s kid’s names, as corporations list her as their registered agent.  As late as 2019 Anne is still involved using the 800 Baker Street Address and the 56th Street address that Wendell used to use.  Looks like she and Wendell were also using a variation on my Trip-Vest Investments, Inc. corporation, called it Tri-Vest, Inc., which meant they couldn’t have been paying taxes or signing documents without faking the notary. 

 

6/17/2020  As part of our settlement Anne insisted on an apology letter.  It was the only way she would agree to the settlement which she never did honor.  She had to be compelled by the court during the conservatorship to release all of the money and properties she was holding that did not belong to her.  I felt like signing this only hurt me and no one else, so even though I resisted, I gave in.  Now she uses it to discredit me even though she never held up her part of the deal that caused me to give her this signed note.  I saw this for the first time today in Chris Spata’s Tampabay Times article.  https://www.tampabay.com/news/2020/06/17/tiger-king-turned-don-lewis-into-a-household-name-will-he-ever-be-found/
