The Carolina Panthers had their long-awaited interview with former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton on Monday. While the Panthers were interviewing Payton along with New York Giants OC Mike Kafka, news came out that Payton will meet with the Arizona Cardinals for the first time on Thursday and that he's set to fly to Denver later this week to meet in person with the Broncos brass for his second interview with the organization. How interested in Payton in the Panthers job considering he's expanded his options?

If the Panthers don't end up with Payton then who do they go to next? According to CBS Sports NFL Insider Jonathan Jones, the Panthers head coaching search could still end up with Wilks as the head man in Carolina. Panthers fans are divided on that prospect as some have dubbed Wilks "Ron Rivera 2.0". Julian Council tries to make sense of the negative connotation behind that moniker for Wilks.
