Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper finally came out of hiding on Wednesday afternoon as he addressed the local Charlotte media ahead of the NFL Draft on Thursday. Tepper preached patience while also backing embattled head coach Matt Rhule. Does Tepper's change in demeanor signal that he's taking a different approach to how the Panthers are built?

Tepper also addressed the Panthers quest for a franchise quarterback, where unprompted, he praised Sam Darnold for being a "very good quarterback". Is this another sign that Darnold will be the Week 1 starter for Carolina?

While addressing the state of the franchise, Tepper ducked questions about the pursuit of Deshaun Watson, the halting of the Rock Hill training facility/headquarters project, and the Charlotte FC training facility. Was Tepper wrong to not address these issues head on?
