The Carolina Panthers no longer control their playoff lives after losing, 24-16, at home to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Carolina's formula to success had been running the football well on offense while controlling its opponent's rushing attack. The Panthers repeatedly lost the battle at the line of the scrimmage only being able to muster 21 yards rushing while allowing the Steelers to run for 157 yards on the ground.

Carolina also struggled to get off the field on 3rd down, allowing Pittsburgh to convert 12/16 on the money down.

Carolina will now need to win their final three games and have Tampa Bay lose a game outside of the two teams' Week 17 meeting. Can Carolina reel off three in a row?
