The Carolina Panthers ongoing contract negotiations with Brian Burns finally came to an end of the first day on the legal negotiating period as the Panthers sent Burns to the New York Giants in exchange for a second and fifth round draft pick. The Giants were willing to meet Burns' contract demands as they'll sign the two-time Pro Bowl edge rusher for a 5 year, $150 million deal, with $87.5 million guaranteed. Burns won't be the only Panthers defensive star to depart as Frankie Luvu signed a three-year, $36 million deal with the Washington Commanders. The Panthers have now watched four starters from a top five defense exit this offseason. How will the team go about rebuilding that side of the ball?
