Fear is a 1996 American psychological thriller film directed by James Foley and written by Christopher Crowe. It stars Mark Wahlberg, Reese Witherspoon, William Petersen, Alyssa Milano and Amy Brenneman. It revolves around a wealthy family whose seemingly perfect life is threatened when their teenage daughter begins dating an attractive and mysterious young man. Buckle up because im joined by Men On Film to discuss this EPIC 90's at length.
The film was largely derided by critics upon its release, but became a sleeper hit in the spring of 1996, grossing $20 million at the U.S. box office. It has since become a cult film, while at the same time launching teen idol status for its two young leads, who were romantically linked at the time of the movie's premiere. Wahlberg was nominated for the MTV Movie Award for Best Villain.
The film's own producer, Brian Grazer, described it as " Fatal Attraction for teens"...a loose recollection in which Wahlberg and Witherspoon have the Glenn Close and Michael Douglas roles, respectively, while Petersen is in Anne Archer's.
DEEP DIVE with a special guest @KevinTheMovieCritic! Join us as we talk Space Jam, Michael Jordan and all the lore that surrounded this larger than life movie. Space Jam is a 1996 American live-action/animated sports comedy film directed by Joe Pytka and starring basketball player Michael Jordan.[5] The film presents a fictionalized account of what happened between Jordan's initial retirement from the NBA in 1993 and his 1995 comeback, in which he is enlisted by the Looney Tunes to help them win a basketball match against a group of aliens who intend to enslave them as attractions for their theme park. Wayne Knight, Theresa Randle, and Bill Murray appear in supporting roles, while Billy West, Dee Bradley Baker, and Danny DeVito headline the voice cast.
Space Jam was the first feature film to be produced by Warner Bros. Feature Animation, and was released theatrically in the United States on November 15, 1996 by Warner Bros. Pictures under their Family Entertainment Brand label. The film was a box office success, grossing over $250 million worldwide and becoming the highest-grossing basketball film of all time. It received mixed reviews from critics, who were divided on the out-of-place merits and concept of combining Jordan and his profession with the Looney Tunes characters, while many additionally praised Jordan's performance, the technical achievement of blending digitally live-action and animation (particularly the basketball scenes) and the faithful Looney Tunes comedy. The film has nonetheless amassed a cult following.

Sorry about my voice in this episode friends I was a bit sick. Max from Measuring Flicks and The Artist Bird join me to talk Scream and horror in general. We have a blast and I hope you enjoy this extra long episode! Scream is a 1996 American meta slasher film[5] directed by Wes Craven and written by Kevin Williamson. The film stars David Arquette, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Matthew Lillard, Rose McGowan, Skeet Ulrich, and Drew Barrymore. Released on December 20, it follows the character of Sidney Prescott (Campbell), a high school student in the fictional town of Woodsboro, California, who becomes the target of a mysterious killer in a Halloween costume known as Ghostface. The film combines black comedy and "whodunit" mystery with the violence of the slasher genre to satirize the clichés of the horror movie genre popularized in films such as Halloween (1978), Friday the 13th (1980) and Craven's own A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984). Scream was considered unique at the time of its release for featuring characters who were aware of real-world horror films and openly discussed the clichés that the film attempted to subvert.
