The NBA schedule is out and now all Celtics Fans have to do is wait for the tipoffs. The Celtics will begin their preseason schedule on September 28th against the Hornets. They will play 3 more games during the preseason ending with the 4th and final game on Saturday the 6th. Now for the regular season the Celtics will start the season off with a chance to prove something as they will open up the regular season on Tuesday October 16th hosting the Philadelphia 76ers. 3 nights later they will have their first matchup with Kawhi Leonard, Kyle Lowry and the Toronto Raptors. The 76ers and the Raptors are considered the 2 biggest road blocks in the Celtics path to an NBA Finals appearance. The Celtics will play both these teams of course 4 times this season with the matchups taking place on for the 76ers October 16th in Boston, December 25th on Christmas day in Boston, February 12th in Philly and March 20th in Philly. For the Raptors its October 19th in Toronto, November 16th in Boston, January 16th in Boston and February 26th in Toronto. The Eastern Conference is wide open now and is a 3 team battle between the Celtics, Raptorsand 76ers thanks to the decision made by Lebron James to leave Cleveland and the Eastern Conference for the Los Angeles Lakers. The Celtics will take on Lebron and his new Lakers first on February 7th in Boston. Then the Celtics will travel to Los Angeles on March 9th. Many feel this years NBA Finals will end up being the Celtics and the Warriors. The first preview of that matchup will take place January 26th in Boston while the 2nd matchup which takes place in Golden State will take place March 5th. Overall the Celtics will play 39 games on nationally televised networks (NBA TV, TNT, ESPN, ABC). The Celtics will play 12 back to backs in total.
