April 19, 2009 Kingdom Voices
Speaker: Laurence East
Date: April 19,2009
Text: Luke 4:16-21
Summary:Luke 4:16 is probably the most dramatic opening moment of any story told in the Bible, and perhaps more importantly heralds the ministry of the One who would change history. Jesus drops a bombshell on his own church and begins to explain the Kingdom of God, only it doesnt look anything they expected!
Why is it, that throughout history, God has chosen to announce his Kingdom through the most unexpected circumstances and the most unexpected people; the poor, the outcast, the excluded, the alien in our midst?
If that is true, why is the North American church today a place for the haves instead of the have-nots? This week, Laurence East shares the journey of the Metro community on the streets of Kelowna, and the revelation of Jesus among the poor.

April 05, 2009 The Cross as Glory
Speaker: Norm Funk
Date: April 5, 2009
Summary: Crucifixion was cruel, ghastly, brutal, horrific and scandalous. The Jewish people considered those who died on the cross a disgrace and cursed, the Romans considered them defeated - losers died on crosses. How then does Jesus declare the event of the cross to be the pinnacle of His and His Father's glory? And how does Paul come to a place where he says he will boast in nothing but the offense of the cross? This message unpacks the paradox of the cross.

March 08, 2009 The Economy of the Vineyard
Speaker: John Imbeau
Date: Mar 8, 2009
Text: John 15:1-12
Summary: People are under immense pressure all over the globe as we spin inharmoniously and out of control. Stimulus, stocks, and striking oil are what we garner to feed our hope.
There is however an economy described in John 15 that is the perfect word for our troubled times. The harmony of the vine, its branches, and the vinedresser is a metaphor for love. That metaphor can once again become good news to those spinning without hope.
