Summary:One of the key aspects of studying Ecclesiastes is remembering the perspective in which it is being written. Solomon is writing about life from a God-less, non-eternal perspective and attempting to find meaning in it. However, that isn't reality, there is more to life than what is seen under the sun and therefore how we live here matters not just for time but for eternity.
Summary: Because all people have been created to worship, we all worship something. Because of that we have a great proclivity towards elevating leaders to places where they don't belong, deifying them in the process, and placing our hope in them. Ecclesiastes 8 speaks of the how to live in the in between of this world with its present day leadership and the kingdom of God to come.
Summary: In Ecclesiastes 7 Solomon moves from talking about how abundance isn't always what its cracked up to be to suggesting that adversity isn't necessarily a bad thing either - even the grand pooba of adveristy, death.
Summary: Solomon, in his continued evaluation of a world attempting to live without God, yet still seeking joy, meaning and contentment, concludes that it's all vanity for even joy itself is a gift from God.
Summary: Christmas is associated with a lot of things: gifts, turkeys, family, vacations, etc. But one of the other things its associated with is waiting. But not waiting for what as much as waiting for whom. Christmas brings with it the anticipation of the coming of Jesus.
