As we conclude our study of Exodus chapters 1 to 15 we consider the role of worship, specifically the role of singing, as a response to what God has done for us and in us through Jesus.
Few events in the Bible are more well known than the crossing of the Red Sea. But what makes it most extraordinary and wondrous is what it reveals about God's salvation. This message highlights three of them.
With the tenth and final plague of Passover complete what does God call His people to next? What does God want to ensure that His people give themselves to first? He calls them to remember. Remember who they were and what He had done. This message delves deep into the question, why? Why does God want us to remember and what does it birth in us, His children?
As we wrap up the account of the ten plagues we come to the moment of Passover. How does this powerful act of God move us from slavery to worship? And how are we to live in light of it?
God, Himself, calls the plagues harsh. Who would argue? But He also commands us to share with generation after generation the harshness of them. Why? What do they display and show that's so all-important for us to see?
As we come to chapter seven the story of the Exodus begins to focus on God's incredible display of power as He moves His people from slavery to worship through the plagues.
In spite of God's promises what keeps us from believing and living in light of them? That's the main question that gets addressed coming out of Exodus 6.
What do you do when your faithful obedience to God is only met with resistance and disdain? How do you respond, where do you turn? Additionally, how do negative reactions to God and His Word serve God's ultimate purpose and plan? We address those dilemmas in this week's message.
As we continue on in our series through the book of Exodus we will take some time to consider what means to be called by God when our lives (unlike Moses') seem to be completely ordinary.
In last week's message we considered the call of God on Moses' life and how we too are called to go to a hurting and enslaved people. In this week's message we consider that not only are we called like Moses was but often times respond to God's call like Moses did too.
