talented, Alaap Sikander.
Alaap’s parents, Sardool Sikander & Amar Noori have
earned a Legendary status in the Indian Music and Film Industry and have won hearts of people all over the world. Their forefathers have been proclaimed as the Royal Singers and Musicians of the Patiala Gharana at the service of Maharaja Patiala and the Royal family.
Growing up in musically rich and artistic environment, Alaap has taken a big step forward to carry his parents’ Legacy in Music and elevate it by adding his own style of performance that he has developed over the years. Being in the thick of music all his life, recalling his first ever memory of singing his heart out since the tender age of 4, Alaap has been blessed to have taught himself to play almost every instrument just by the ear. From Guitar to Rabab, from Drums to Tabla, from Keyboards and piano to Harmonium, he knows his way around most instruments.
In the Year 2014, Alaap was selected in the APE (Audio
Production & Engineering) program conducted in Metalworks Institute of Sound and Music Production, Canada’s premiere facility for Music and Sound Technology. There, he was trained with the state-of-the-art Analog Recording, Mixing and processing Audio equipment as well as learned all Digital Audio Workstations.
Alaap has produced many amazing songs individually on his own and alongside his brother Sarang Sikander, a well-known singer and music producer. Both the brothers broke new grounds by starting their musical journey in childhood itself and continuing the same in teenage years.
