Champions...of Digression!

Cory ate an enchanted hot wing and has been banished to the land of wind and ghosts, so Hub is joined by his wonderful and brilliant wife, Lisa. They take a look at Raven's secret origin from Tales of the New Teen Titans #2. Topics of discussion include: how many eyeballs cats have, reflective listening tips, bird taxonomy, Azarath smells like farts, and why can't Raven be more like Data? All this, plus a gratuitous Paul Lynde reference! Enjoy! Enjoy!

Cory is back from his extra-dimensional mishap...but he is in Singapore, so our hosts have an intercontinental conversation and do their best to make sense of Giant-Size Defenders #5, the issue that presupposes that if one writer can write a good issue, seven writers can write a great issue! Topics of discussion include: the adventures of Human-do and Earthy, Squirrel Polish, overzealous toll booth attendants, and a surprising amount of references to The Monster Mash. Oh, and it's got the Guardians of the Galaxy in it (but not the famous ones). It's a Giant-Size episode! Enjoy! Enjoy!

Cory was caught in a transporter accident and is now stuck in a dimension that is slightly out of phase with our own...so Hub is joined by his brilliant wife, Lisa! They take a look at the first issue of the Tales of the New Teen Titans mini series featuring Cyborg! Topics of discussion include: Robin may literally be Peter Pan, Cyborg has always enjoyed jumping around the city in his underpants, the importance of teaching your child that cars are a thing, and Grand Canyon safety tips! All this, plus a long awkward conversation as two white people criticize the way a third white person wrote about what it means to be a black teenager. Enjoy! Enjoy!

The Sons of the Serpent saga slithers to its conclusion as our hosts examine Defenders #25! Topics of discussion include: casual racists versus overt racists; Brian Blessed talks big; the anatomy of horses (both demonic and otherwise), Post Impressionist fisticuffs, and the debut of Elf with a Gun! All this, plus another pulse pounding installment of Hostess Twinkie Theater! You'll get a big wet crunch with every punch!

So...there's some pretty jacked audio on this one. Did my best to mitigate it in editing, but, it's a thing. Sorry. Anyway, Our hosts take a look at New Teen Titans #31. Topics of discussion include: garbage disposal safety tips, Wally is seriously the worst, that "how many days are in each month" mnemonic device is a sham, and the discrete charm of a super-intelligent French ape. All this, plus our solemn vow to you...a big wet crunch with every punch!

Our hosts take a look at the delicious nothing burger that is Defenders #25. Topics of discussion include: Jack Norris sucks; bears; the Legion of Substitute Defenders; bears; Hub's fun nickname for the Sons of Serpents; and Steve should really clear his mystical browser history. Enjoy! Enjoy!

Happy New Year! The Titans and our hosts ring in their respective New Years as we take a look at New Teen Titans #30. Topics of discussion include: Bowser from Sha Na Na's 80's PSA; what percentage of priests are actually Rowlf from the Muppet Show; and super-villain cheat days! All this, plus an indecent (or at least inappropriate) proposal, and Terra officially joins the team! And speaking of balls...

The hosts are a little loopy on boozy eggnog and holiday cheer as they tackle Defenders #23. Topics of discussion include: Holiday Pangea; Inspector Insector (aka Hank Pym) has a very unpleasant raygun; Hub's embarrassing Netflix history; Jack Norris is no Sandra Bullock; and a fun new nickname for the Sons of the Serpent. All this, plus Count Dante, and the return of Hostess Fruit Pie Theater! Enjoy! Enjoy!

Ho Ho Ho! It's Solstice Eve, so leave out that pair of Roos for the Solstice Elves to fill with carob and listen to Hub and Cory talk about New Teen Titans #29! Topics of discussion include: Speedy is the worst; the difference between Brian Bosworth and Jim McMahon; Kid Flash is the worst; the Titans are great at eavesdropping, but terrible at listening; Robin is the worst; and computers with ridiculous French accents! All this, plus a frank discussion about whether magnetic powers can make someone poop themselves. Merry Whatever!

Cory has made a remarkable recovery from being vaporized and having his atoms scattered across the universe, so our hosts take a look at the interesting but problematic Defenders #22! Topics of discussion include: accent choices in The Christmas Prince; Hulk smash racism; Nighthawk's inexplicable fear of babies; that one time a dude spit in Hub's face; and some good old fashioned rat stabbing! Funt!
