Tyrion is having trouble getting comfortable in his new room in the Eyrie. Mostly it's the lack of a fourth wall, the 600-foot drop just feet away from him, and the rough treatment from the jailer. He takes a big gamble on plan to get himself out, but at least the first part pays off when Bronn volunteers to champion him in a trial by combat.
Chapter Review:
Tyrion's sarcasm and threats to Lysa Arryn have landed him in a sky cell of the Eyrie. As the days drag on, he's starting to wonder if they're planning on letting him die down there. We learn that Lysa has added the accusation that Tyrion killed Jon Arryn to that of Cat's accusation that he tried to have Bran killed. With nothing but time to think, he wonders if his siblings were actually involved in either the plot to kill Bran or the death of Jon Arryn. He also thinks that possibly a third party could have been involved, as the plots were so very different in sophistication.
When Tyrion realizes he can't last much longer in his cell, due to the cruel treatment from his jailer, he bribes the jailer to tell Lysa he's ready to confess his sins. During his audience with Lysa, Cat, and many of the lords of the Vale, it becomes clear his decision to confess was just a ruse to get in front of a large audience. He requests a trial by combat. For a long minute he thinks he's mad a terrible mistake, until Bronn steps forward to be his champion.
