There are few people more out of touch than celebrities.  They quite literally live in their own worlds, ignorant of the realities of life on the ground floor.  Similarly, corporations are run by and for people who don't care about you or your well-being, especially if those things get in the way of profit.  What else do these two things have in common?  They're both worshiped as arbiters of absolute moral truth.  We live in very strange times.
