Show Notes:
Green has a natural calming effect on us, largely because of our evolutionary connection to nature. When you hike and are surrounded by green, your brain associates it with natural environments that are safe, nourishing, and supportive of life. Studies show that green can lower stress levels, help calm the nervous system, and even improve mood, which is why spending time in green spaces can feel so restorative.
Beyond the color itself, the act of being in nature immerses you in patterns and sounds that our minds find soothing and rhythmic, like leaves rustling and birds chirping. The combination of movement, fresh air, and sensory connection to nature’s colors can make hiking a perfect recipe for a peaceful, recharged mind.

In this latest episode of the Chasing Thoughts podcast, Mindy and Keith dive into the beliefs we’ve adopted throughout our lives—those handed down by our parents, teachers, and experiences. Many times the beliefs we’ve adopted are founded in fear, and that fear multiplies and grows in the silence of our hearts until they become the monsters of our worst nightmares.
But the fear that formed into the creatures which control us so easily, were born to protect us. In reality, they are our friends and we need to build a better relationship with them. When we confront our fears it leads to a moment of awareness, and that awareness allows us to develop new ways of dealing with those fears, so that they once again take their proper place in our lives, instead of being the controller of our lives.
Join Mindy and Keith as they discuss ways to break free from those fictional beliefs that no longer serve us 🧠💡 and learn how to follow what feels lighter and more expansive. It’s an empowering conversation about aligning with what uplifts us, no matter what life throws our way 🌱🌟.
