With the Second Season of Desert Collectors Australia already airing on 7 Mate, we took the opportunity to catch up with Master Collector himself - Nigel Quick.
Having our own Antique & Collectable store in town it was great to have a Chat with Nigel. You can say he was the inspiration behind us starting our own Facebook "LIVE'" Auctions too.
It seems he has always been a collector, and like so many times, he has turned his passion into his career.
We talk about how he got started collecting, what he was doing prior to the TV Series and touch on some of the amazing people and stories that have come from his adventures around WA.
Exciting news to come from the Chat is it looks like there is going to be a 3rd Series too AND he is heading to the East Coast.
Stay tuned for this !!!
You can contact Nigel or get involved with his online Auctions using the links below. He ships all around Australia and OS as well.

As with a lot of things on the Northern Rivers, we tend to fall under the umbrella of Queensland, simply due to the logistics of a lot of things.
Car dealerships are really no different. With a lot of the Head Quarters based in Brisbane and a lot of the Dealerships owned by Queensland based firms and private owners, it just makes sense.
Stephen's role within Suzuki Auto Co in Sale & Marketing is ALL QLD & the Northern Rivers where he has been servicing since 2006.
Suzuki itself started in 1909 as a loom manufacturer for the Silk Industry, A prototype vehicle was first built in 1941 but was halted due to the Second World War.
Suzuki's first 2 wheeler was the "Power Free", by 1954 they were producing 6000 motorcycles a month and their first car, the "Suzulight" was built in 1955. They are now represented in 180 countries.
Suzuki Auto Co is a Third Generation QLD Family owned business. They imported the first Suzuki Motorcycles out of Japan in 1959, and to this day Australia has the longest serving Suzuki Dealer outside of Japan in the World.
Suzuki Auto Co is a very family based and ran Company sticking to their moto and values of "Way of Life"
Their range of vehicles exude, Lifestyle, Fun, Quality, Affordability, Reliability, Safety, Technology and Economy.
They have something for everyone - Swift - S-Cross - Vitara - Jimny - Baleno - Swift Sport - Ignis.

Our former Mayor, Jenny is a person that absolutely loves her City, our City of Lismore & the Surrounding Areas.
Anybody that sees the positives in Lismore and wants to see it grow and thrive will always have a place on this show and a platform to be heard.
Moving here in 1991 Jenny didn't waste anytime getting fully immersed into the lifestyle, the culture and the atmosphere of the Northern Rivers.
Working in special education while volunteering for numerous organisations, Jenny had no real intentions in getting involved in local politics or council, until she personally witnessed a social injustice that stirred something up inside of her, hit a nerve that fueled a burning desire to get involved and to make a difference.
Jenny joined Lismore City Council in 2004 where she remained for Twelve and a Half Years - 8 years as Mayor.
In this Podcast we talk about all sorts of things with Jenny. Her time as Mayor, her own battle with Breast Cancer, the Committee's she is on, the Organisations she is a Patron for and her Passions she loves to Volunteer for.
In 2017, Jenny was named an Honorary Doctor of Southern Cross University and awarded an OAM for her services to local government and the community, where she still plays a role as a "Mayor Mentor" with other councils around NSW.
Although Jenny is long retired, her calendar is still very busy. She is always actively promoting whats going on around the area, visiting different events and always has a patient ear and a kind word for people that recognise her out and about.
Craig has so much energy and a passion for life, not just the world of photography he lives in.
From humble beginnings of Landscapes, Wedding photography and Surfing Photos, which Craig assures us all had a vital role in his educational journey of learning his chosen craft, To the Epic photos of we see of Wildlife (Water & Land) that Grace the Covers and Pages of Magazines around the World, not to mention the Framed Images in 100's of Board Rooms, Living Rooms and Exhibitions as well.
He attributes his success to a few things.
1) Taking Risks - often not calculated, but backing yourself, your dream and your ability to see it through.
2) Consistency - putting in the hard work, putting in the hours, paying your dues, taking the hits and bouncing back. You're not always going to win that competition, not everyone is going to see what you see. However you have to keep turning up, working on the shots, the angles, the lighting ..... getting better and better.
3) Being Open to Opportunity - By doing the first two things well, getting yourself out there, being flexible, being easy to work with, can open doors, and other experiences for you.
Craig Parry is a multi award winning oceanic and nature photographer of international acclaim, based in Byron Bay, Australia.
https://craigparryphotography.com/
Growing up in Byron Bay along the coastline of Northern NSW, Australia, it was his parent’s gift of a disposable water proof camera at five years old that set him on the path to his passion. While most kids his age were reading comics, Craig was immersing himself in early editions of National Geographic and when he turned 13 years old he spent all his savings on a 35mm SLR – a move that ultimately set the course for Craig’s future. Entirely self-taught, Craig worked hard at his craft before making a life-changing decision and becoming a full-time professional photographer in 2004 – a defining moment in Craig’s life.
Today his fine art photography offers a unique insight into the world around us. Primarily focusing upon marine and landscape imagery, subjects are presented in their natural environment in a manner which seeks to connect audiences with the environment. Portraying the obvious as abstract, Craig’s images are engaging and beautiful at the same time.
Craig’s stature as a leading nature photographer has indisputably been confirmed as his work has taken out top honour in numerous prestigious competitions including:
– 1st Pace – The Ghost – Competition: Golden Turtle International Photography Competition – Category: The Under Water World (2017)
– 1st Place – Life & Death – Competition: International Landscape Photographer of the Year – Category: International Landscape Photograph of the Year (2014)
– 1st Place – Fin Swipe – Competition: International Photographer of the Year – Category: Underwater Photograph of the Year (2014)
– Additionally acclaimed masterworks include Emergence and Surface Tension.
As Sony Global Ambassador his work regularly sees him travelling to all corners of the globe in pursuit of new adventures and unique encounters, and he can often be found working with the likes of National Geographic, Discovery Channel and Travel Channel.
Craig also runs regular photography workshops, and is now taking bookings for his 2020 Photography Workshops and Tours to Tonga, Botswana and beyond.
To stay up to date with Craig’s adventures, be sure to sign up to his monthly newsletter Odyssey.

In this Podcast we have a chat with young local entrepreneur Ned Cain, who has channeled his passion into a viable enterprise.
From his initial idea of developing a local rehearsal studio for his own band and mates, to having an awesome commercial space attracting great local and interstate talent into the studio,
Ned hasn't stopped there.
Seeing an opportunity to then support and create band merchandise, he has established a screen printing, additional income stream to the Nedlands Brand.
Ned's passion for music, especially our local talent pool, is evident in our chat, and his passion and gratitude of the Northern Rivers is refreshing.
He is still drumming in the local music scene with the band "Masochist" - a socially conscious punk band and they are just finalising their latest LP.
You can catch their music on "bandcamp" & "spotify"
https://masochistpunk.bandcamp.com/
We also dive into Ned's other passion of Short Course Motorcycle Racing, where he explains his need for speed and racing has been possibly more apart of his life long dream than music. He has two Bikes set up to race now, and if he's not in the studio or screen printing, you'll now find him and his Dad, Neville working on the Bikes.
Ned attributes his success so far to his Mum for always encouraging him to "go for it" and his Dad for helping him turn the ideas and dreams into reality.
