Yeshayahu sings a parable about a man who had high hopes for his vineyard but was greatly disappointed and would have to destroy it, symbolizing Hashem’s great disappointment for how the nation of Israel turned out and how He would need to purge it of all its impurities.
Yeshayahu speaks about the horrible fate of the selfish, the drunk, the ignorant, the arrogant, the foolish ones who get caught in the web of sin, the deceitful, and those with greatly confused priorities.
He then speaks of the great alacrity with which the destruction will come and the darkness which will result.

Yeshayahu prophesies that _“B’Acharis HaYamim - at the end of days”_ the mountain of Hashem will be exalted above the rest of the world and the nations of the world will come to the Beis HaMikdash to learn how to serve Hashem and there will be no more war.
He urges Yisrael to walk in the “light of Hashem” because the land had become filled with wealth and idolatry.
He speaks about the day of judgment which will humble all the haughty and impose great fear upon the wicked, which will result in the removal of idols and a breakage of the land.
He then urges them not to place their faith in mortal man.

● Yeshayahu ben Amotz has a Chazon about Yehudah and Yerushalayim in the days of Uziah (Azariah), Yosam, Achaz, and Yechizkiyahu (Chizkiyahu).
● He chastises the nation for being worse than domesticated animals by rebelling against their Master and compares their wickedness and future destruction to that of the Sodom and Amorah.
● He says that Hashem doesn’t need or even want meaningless korbanos and tefilos and rather wants them to do Teshuvah and seek justice for the oppressed, like the orphan and widow.
● Hashem promises that He will accept Teshuvah and warns that the alternative will be death and destruction until the nation is purified and justice is returned to Yehudah and Yerushalayim.

Yehoyakim becomes a vassal to the invading Nevuchadnetzer Melech Bavel for three years but rebels.
Hashem sends troops of Kasdim, Aram, Moav, and Amon against Yehudah because of Menashe’s sins.
Yehoyakim dies and is succeeded by his son the evil Yehoyachin.
Nevuchadnetzar lays siege upon Yerushalayim and when Yehoyachin and his entourage go out to greet Nevuchadnetzar, they are captured and exiled to Bavel.
Nevuchadnetzar strips the Beis HaMikdash and royal treasuries of its gold and silver and exiles all of Yerushalayim to Bavel except for the poorest commoners.
Melech Bavel replaces Yehoyachin with Mataniah and renames him Tzidkiyahu.
Tzidkiyahu “does evil in the eyes of Hashem as Yehoyakim had done.”
The Navi says that it was because of Hashem’s wrath that all this was happening and Tzidkiyahu rebels against Melech Bavel.

● Yoshiyahu gathers the men of Yehudah and Yerushalayim with the Kohanim and Neviim to the Beis HaMikdash, reads from the “Sefer HaBris” that was found, and leads the nation in sealing a new covenant before Hashem to keep the Torah and Mitzvos.
● He instructs the Kohanim to remove all the keilim for the Baal and Asheirah from the Beis HaMikdash and he burns them.
● He dismisses the priests of bamos, burns Asheiros, demolishes rooms of Avodah Zarah, defiles some bamos and destroys others, does things to prevent Molech and sun worship, smashes idols, etc.
● He destroys Yaravam’s mizbeiach and burns the bones of Yaravam’s priests who were buried in the area.
● He comes across the grave of (Ido) the prophet who prophesied about Yoshiyahu to Yaravam and tells his men to leave it alone.
● He then slaughters and burns the “Kohanim” of the bamos on their bamos in Shomron before returning to Yerushalayim.
● He then declares a celebration of the bringing of Korban Pesach in Yerushalayim in a way that hadn’t been done since the days of the Shoftim.
● The Navi testifies that there was never a king like Yoshiyahu who did Teshuvah the way he did but G-d is nevertheless still angry because of Menashe’s provocations and declares that He will do to Yerushalayim as He did to Yisrael.
● Paroh N’cho goes to war against Ashur and when Yoshiyahu goes to confront him, Paroh N’cho kills him.
● Yoshiyahu is taken back and buried and is succeeded by his son Yehoachaz.
● The evil Yehoachaz is king for three months until Paroh N’cho imprisons him, fines Yehudah, and places Elyakim ben Yoshiyahu as king instead.
● He renames Elyakin Yehoyakim and Yehoyakim pays the fine.
● Yehoyakim is evil like his grandfather and great-grandfather.

● At the age of 8, Yoshiyahu becomes king and in his 18th year, he commands Shaphan the Sofeir to tell Chilkiyahu Kohen Gadol to collect money and repair the Beis HaMikdash.
● During the repairs, Chilkiyahu finds a Sefer Torah (rolled to the Tocheichah) and sends Shaphan to read it before Yoshiyahu, who rents his garments upon hearing the message.
● Yoshiyahu then sends them with some others to inquire from Hashem what should and would be done so they go to Chuldah HaNeviah.
● Chuldah prophesies and tells them that Hashem will bring destruction upon Yehudah and Yerushalayim for all their sinfulness but since Yoshiyahu humbled himself before Hashem, he himself won’t see the destruction and will be buried in peace beforehand.

Menashe ben Chizkiyahu rules for 55 years and brings the nation to new lows by enforcing idolatry, bringing bamos and asheiros into the Beis HaMikdash, and widespread murder all for the purpose of angering Hashem.
He doesn’t heed the warnings of any of the prophets who threaten G-d’s destruction of Yehudah and Yerushalayim and is ultimately buried in the garden of his palace and succeeded by his son Amon (אָמוֹן).
Amon follows in the evil ways of his father and is killed by his servants in his own palace after reigning for two years.
The conspirators are stricken by the people and Yoshiyahu ben Amon is appointed as king.
