  • In The Word | Filling Our Minds With The Truth

Paul writes to the church of Colossae reminding them of the importance of the mind and tells them to fill their minds with the Truth. Paul is praying that their minds will be filled with the knowledge, wisdom, and the understanding of who God is so there isn't room for anything else. We need to empty the lies and junk of this world and fill our minds with God's Word. When our minds are filled with lies, there's no room for the truth. When are minds are filled with the truth, there's no room for lies. What are we filled with? What are we filling our minds with? Listen to this sermon from part two of our In The Word series as we walk through the book of Colossians.

  • Let's Go | Protecting the Fellowship

In this episode of Let's Go, Pastor Jared looks back on Pastor Brian's message in the first part of our In The Word series walking through the book of Colossians. What would we do if Paul wrote us a letter and said he had hear about our faith, love, and all what God is doing like he did to the church in Colossae? How would we respond? If that is being said in the community that our faith is strong and the way we are loving others is strong, then we need to be careful. The way we love has the power to draw people; the way we do not love has the power to repel people. This is a challenge for us as believers. Are we loving the way Christ has taught us to love?

Let's Go is a series of podcast episodes where we look back on the message from Sunday and take a look at how it applies to our life.

  • In The Word (Colossians) | Protecting the Fellowship

In the book of Colossians, Paul is writing a letter to the church of Colossae. Paul directs every bit of the attention to the head of the body, Jesus. Everything points back to Jesus. The three questions that must be asked are: (1) Are you in Christ?, (2) Are you allowing God to use us where He has placed us?, (3) Is God using you where He’s placed you? When a church body is in Christ and allows God to use them, then there are things to be careful of because the enemy wants to destroy what God is doing. A lost world is looking in and watching. Jesus was so passionate about protecting the fellowship. We have to be protective of the fellowship too. Listen to this sermon from part one of our In The Word series as we begin to walk through the book of Colossians.

  • Let's Go | The Day

In this episode of Let's Go, Pastor Jared looks back on Pastor Brian's message about The Day as we celebrated Easter. Everyone responds differently to the resurrection. When we meet Jesus wherever we are, He changes everything. He doesn't expect you to be a mile further in your journey before He will meet you. He meets you right where you are. The hope we have in His resurrection is everything. We have to slow down long enough to realize what God is doing. God is close to us but are we walking with Him. Are you slowing down long enough to recognize what He's doing? What are you doing with the resurrection?

  • Let's Go | The Trial

In this episode of Let's Go, Pastor Jared looks back on Pastor Brian's message about the Trial of Jesus in our Easter series called The Trial, The Death, The Day. The question we need need to be asking is, "What will we do with Jesus?" Are we going to choose Jesus or are we not going to choose Jesus? The influence of the world, the influence of evil, blinds us from the truth. It blinds us that we are guilty of our own sin. Are we going to stand on the truth or are we going to stand on what's popular? We can't just choose what the crowd is choosing. Ultimately, we have to decide if we are going to stand for the truth or stand for what's popular. Is Jesus everything for you? What will you do with Jesus?

  • The Trial, The Death, The Day | The Trial

In looking at the Trial of Jesus, we see we have more in common with Pilate, the governor of Judea, than we can imagine. As the crowd brings Jesus to Pilate for Jesus' trial, Pilate is faced with the question, "What shall I do with Jesus?" Pilate knows Jesus is innocent, but the crowd wants Jesus crucified. On the brink of a riot from the people, Pilate has to make the choice whether to stand on the truth or to stand on what is popular. Similar to Pilate, we have a decision to make every single day to choose whether we are going to stand on the Truth or stand on what's popular, what the world wants. What have you done with Jesus? Listen to this sermon from Palm Sunday 2021 in our Easter series called The Trial, The Death, The Day.

  • Let's Go | Exercising Dependence

In this episode of Let's Go, Pastor Jared looks back on Pastor Brian's message about exercising dependence as we conclude The Lord's Prayer in our How To Pray series. God does not tempt us but He does lead us into tempting and trial. God loves us so much that He allows us to face trials and tests so that we will run and depend on Him. There is always a purpose for what He leads us to.

  • How To Pray - Exercising Dependence

To say we are dependent is one thing, but to exercise dependence is another thing. The Lord's Pray is showing us and putting us in a posture of exercise dependence. We can say we want to be dependent on God, but it's a whole other thing to actually exercise that dependence. As the Lord's Prayer ends, Jesus prays, "do not lead us into temptation." In this verse, we are reminded that being obedient to Christ and following Christ is not always going to be easy. However, When we follow our Father's lead, it's an opportunity for Him to prove His faithfulness. We are not strong enough to fight the enemy. We are not strong enough to overcome. When we can't do it, we serve a God who already has. We must dependent on Him though. Listen to this sermon in the fifth part of our How To Pray series.

  • Let's Go | Surrender Leads to Dependence

In this episode of Let's Go, Pastor Jared looks back on Pastor Brian's message about praying "give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts." Forgiveness is such an important and difficult part of the Christian life. We are to forgive as Christ forgave us. Who do we need to forgive? If there are people that we are not forgiving in our life, we are creating a prison for ourselves. We aren't walking in freedom. Jesus has made it possible for us to be forgiven and for us to walk in forgiveness. We forgive because we've been forgiven.
