"见怪不怪" (Upper Intermediate)—a dialogue about adapting to unusual phenomena, such as colleagues wearing slippers in the office. Includes example sentences for practice.

The expression 偏偏 is used to express something happening contrary to what was expected, often with a sense of irony or frustration.

In this context, 偏偏 expresses the idea that something happened in a frustrating or unexpected way, as the boss gave the task at the last moment.

Hello, everyone, I’m Wang Gang. This video presents to you a special dish: steamed buns with deep fried shrimp croquettes. First, we remove the head of the prawn, cut it from the back, remove the shrimp vein and shell, then add salt and lemon juice, and marinate the shrimp for ten minutes. In the next step, we prepare the white steamed buns -- cut the steamed buns into evenly-sized small pieces to be used later, then cover the marinated prawns with starch, then brush with egg wash, and finally coat the steamed buns evenly, pressing gently with your hand. When the oil in the pan is heated to 60% hot, add the steamed prawns and fry for five minutes on medium-low heat. When the prawns are fried until golden and crispy, pour out and set aside.
