Hoppers, I've know for over a decade and he graciously spared some time to speak with us on the pod. He won the 1993 rugby 7s world cup with England but an injury cut his career short. He found himself heart broken and without any support. So he set about the journey of founding the Rugby Players Association (RPA) to give back to the game and support all players who retire early or otherwise. He's a chiro, health and fitness advocate and shares his own personal strategy for health and wellbeing. Thanks Damian.

Mike is a South African doc who studied chiropractic in SA. He's been in the UK for 6 years and he shares insight into his journey as a chiro so far. He's practicing with us in the Chiro London Fulham clinic. He gets into definitions of chiropractic, how he's studying functional medicine and nutrition, we discuss ways to keep the host (you) and your immune system strong during a global pandemic, and he shares his story as one half of the Lions of Chiropractic seminar group.

Vismai and Craig went to school together, Chiro college together and parents still live 1km from each other. Their paths have crossed many times over their lives especially with Craig in London and when Vismai was in Holland. Vismai is now in Singapore and commutes from Bali. His teenage kids kids run a social enterprising fashion brand called Nalu. 

Vismai shares his many life experiences but especially the time when he was in a coma for 10 days after getting super ill while in West Africa.

Craig McLean here again. What is integrative psychotherapy and towards the end, where do you find a reputable one? Shula tells us her story of how she changed vocations and became a counsellor after her husband and mate of mine, Hamish lost his battle with mental health. We discuss how emotional problems can manifest as physical symptoms, useful chat for chiropractors! She outlines, about 2/3 of the way though an excellent technique for helping us reprogram any negative mental health patterns. We also discuss the use of social media with regards mental health but the best bit is our reference to Star Wars and the Jedi knights temptation to the dark side. Thanks Shula.

Whoop - the wearable fitness/health tracking device worn on the wrist and claims, by them, to unlock your greatest human potential. We explain what is heart rate variability, in layman's terms and we pull apart the devices and its pretty slick app interface which gives you an in-depth understanding of your sleep, recovery and strain. We tackle this through the eyes of three different sports and athletes. Tommy is full on into crossfit and gets mega annoyed when a 45 min normal human breaking workout doesn't even beat a walk for 45 mi in terms of strain. Luke looks at it as a runner, when running is the quickest way to get high strain on the CV system. Lastly I look at it as a cyclist - cycling is the second easiest way to create strain. Anyway enjoy!

Lisa and I met through an mutual client, but it turns out we've been serving the same part of London for over a decade together and it's a big surprise that we've never met. In this new virtual world it actually worked well, us meeting for the first time over Zoom and me recording it and transforming into the Pod. Enjoy listening to Lisa as she delves into Pilates, why its good for us all, but not everyone lasts the distance, why she thinks chiro and Pilates wrks well together and whats the difference in Pilates offered by Physios and studios.  She offers online classes, continues to work with her students for the BASI pilates training courses and generally run a great business that is expanding next year. Ian Whittingham co-founder of Sigma Sports - we talk bike business, bike racing and backs. What a story to go from doing bike mail orders in your bedroom to 29 years later being a massive online retailer and he talks us through the whole journey. We then cover bike racing, his IG Sigma team followed by Nuun Sigma Sports team and brief explanation of how Wiggo ended up on a Sigma Sports bike in the early days. Finally he was kind enough to declare chiro as a great tool for keeping his back healthy, esp as he doesn't get to cycle as much as he'd like. Enjoy.
