We are in week three of our six week series on Jesus from the Gospel of John. Last week we were in the opening chapter of John’s Gospel, focusing on Jesus as the Man. Today we move onto to John 3 and look at a conversation Jesus has with one of the Jewish religious leaders.

We are in week two of our six week series on Jesus from the Gospel of John. Last week we were in the opening chapter of John’s Gospel, focusing on Jesus as the Logos. Today we return to John 1, where we focus on verse 14, which tells us that “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.” As you will see, this is a radical and radically important passage.

This is the final week of our six-week series on church renewal. In the fall we focused on personal renewal. In the Spring we will be thinking about cultural renewal. But over the last six weeks we have been mining the book of Acts for insights about the church. Today Mike is in Acts 15 and thinking about church unity.

As we come to the fifth week in our series on renewal, we are looking at the vital role equipping, or training, plays in the life of the church. Pastor Mike shared in the video that we are going to further invest into the training and educational opportunities we provide. This morning, we will look at Acts 19 and see that God has strengthened and empowered the church through study and dialogue from the early days of the church. 

This is the fourth week of our six-week study on the renewal of the church. Today, Mike will be returning to Acts 4. A couple weeks ago we turned there to explore the topic of community. We turn there today to think about sacrifice.

As we continue our series on community renewal, we turn our attention to what impact the sacraments of baptism and communion have. How do these holy mysteries that have been celebrated by Christians over the past two thousand years impact our renewal as the body of Christ?

Today we continue our series on renewal, which started in the fall with an exploration of how we might be personally renewed. That first part of our year-long study was based out of Romans 12 and Mark 12. This winter we are focused on church renewal, and the messages are based in the book of Acts. Mike will be up in a minute to think about some of what is contained in the idea that the early church “devoted themselves to fellowship.”

Today we return to the theme of renewal. This past fall, we spent six weeks exploring the idea of personal renewal, mostly from Romans 12 — where Paul instructs us to “be transformed by the renewing of our minds.” This winter, our focus is on church renewal, and Mike will kick off that series — based mostly in Acts — in just a few minutes.
