Jesus said, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). Many people are bothered by the exclusive nature of such a declaration. It really shouldn’t bother anyone. We are surrounded daily by the reality of exclusion. If we don’t have enough money to go to a certain vacation spot, it might be called an exclusive resort. If we find a door locked, we naturally become excluded. If we want to enter the place where we live, all other places become excluded.

It is no accident that the gospel is called the gospel. Gospel means good news. The good news is that there exists an exclusive way to God that is still alive today. May everyone say, Yes! to The Way.

Jesus made I Am declarations that were intentional acts of staking his claim on everything in creation. Jesus not only wants everyone to hear him, but he wants everyone to be included in his claims. Jesus wants all people to put their faith and trust in him so that his claims may become part of our lives forever.

The tricky combination of source and power is answered in Christ. And the good news is that when we give our lives to Jesus he becomes OUR Good Shepherd.
