Let's Chat! Your gifts and talents are not necessarily your purpose; they are the tools God has given you to fulfill your purpose. Through prayer, studying the Word, and following the Holy Spirit, you gain clarity about how God wants you to use those gifts. And when it comes to pivoting in business, a change in direction doesn't always mean you're leaving your purpose behind. Sometimes, it's simply God nudging you into greater alignment with what He's already called you to do.

Many believers are shocked when a pastor has a moral failure, and sometimes that shock can cause them to question their faith. But we must recognize that every pastor, like every human being, has hypocritical tendencies. None of us perfectly lives out everything we profess to believe. This doesn't excuse bad behavior. It simply acknowledges that we're all works in progress, fighting against sin and striving to walk in the ways of Jesus. When we understand this, our faith can remain grounded in the Word, not in people.

God wants the best for us; however, if we continue to live unholy lives, at some point He will remove His covering from us. When His covering is gone, we experience the consequences of our sins. His goal is not to destroy us with consequences but to allow the consequences to lead us to repentance and back to Him.

In Office Hours this week Pastor Amos discussed his experience using AI tool Claude to design websites for his premarital counseling service and new CFE landing page. The conversation shifted to a deeply personal discussion when LaToya shared her concerns about her 12-year-old daughter's emerging identity issues, including questions about bisexuality and exposure to inappropriate content through anime and social media. Several participants, including Stephanie and Abrianna, offered encouragement and parenting advice, emphasizing the importance of early education about difficult topics and limiting media exposure. The group also provided feedback on the newly designed CFE website and premarital counseling landing page, with suggestions to make the language more compelling and less generic. The conversation ended with a prayer for LaToya's daughter and discussion of current events regarding religious tensions in Dearborn, Michigan.

For many believers, when we see an open door of opportunity, we quickly say that God has opened that door for us. For example, you may be offered a job making $500K per year and it appears to be an answer to your prayers. However, just because a door of opportunity is in front of you, that doesn't mean it's from God. We are led by the spirit of God, not doors of opportunity.

Many people are frustrated because they are doing the right things but they're not immediately seeing the results they expect. In 1 Samuel 24 and 26, we are going to see an example of this. David did the right thing but did not receive immediate victory from his situation. The insight we are going to process is that we should do the right thing in spite of the immediate results.

Why do you want to succeed in business, ministry, or anything you do? Well, according to 1 Thessalonians 2:1-6, it needs to be to please God. If your "why" is anything other than to please God, then your why is shaky and will not give you a foundation to overcome the obstacles that stand in the way of success.

In Malachi 3:13-18, the Israelites complained that God was blessing wicked people and righteous people were struggling. Because of this, they concluded that serving God didn't matter. The insight we are going to process is that from the outside looking in, the financial success or failure of someone is not an indication of God's blessing or judgment.

We are exploring Malachi 2:13-16 and Proverbs 5:15-19. In these scriptures, God admonishes older married men to enjoy the wife of their youth and not to divorce them for younger women. The insight we are processing is that our wives will physically change as they age, and regardless of their age, we should still see them just as beautiful as the day we married them. This insight focuses mainly on older married men, but this revelation also applies to older married women.

Office hours started with a discussion about adjusting the schedule for office hours due to Pastor Amos's conflict with Morehouse College, with the group leaning toward moving to Tuesday at 7 p.m. Pastor Amos shared his thoughts on possibly restarting a weekly Bible study and developing a pre-engagement or pre-marriage course, with input from Anya, Stephanie, and others on naming and marketing the program. The group discussed challenges in relationships, the impact of social media on marriage, and the importance of addressing pain points in dating and marriage preparation. Micah raised concerns about financial stewardship and credit issues among entrepreneurs, and Pastor Amos suggested resources and encouraged creating workshops on the topic. Sonja asked for resources on sales and marketing, and Amos recommended books and emphasized the importance of focusing on marketing over just building products. Antonio and Bose shared insights on spiritual warfare in marriage and business, and the need to prioritize prayer and seeking God's guidance. Stephanie encouraged a mindset shift toward loving and serving clients in sales. The meeting closed with prayer and a reminder of the month's prayer focus on unmet expectations and unfulfilled desires.
