Maggie takes time this hour to examine the mass resignations from the US Department of Justice. There is a current subversion of democratic processes by the Trump administration. The jobs at the Department of Justice are the top of the pyramid for lawyers. They are not jobs people resign from. They are coveted jobs, and as Maggie points out, these people believe deeply in what they do. This many resignations suggest they believe their integrity has been compromised. Under the current administration, it might get worse before it gets better. Judicial independence and taking an oath works for both sides.

Maggie begins today's show by reminding you to cast your primary vote. Remember, polls are open until 8PM. For more information on casting your vote in Wisconsin, visit myvote.wi.gov. Plus, Maggie explores JD Vance's bizarre trip to Germany. In front of the Western alliance, Vance explicitly drew a new alliance between the Trump/US/Putin and Neo-Nazis worldwide. There is a through line, and laws and presidential decision-making can go against our fundamental, democratic values even though presidents are elected.

Dane County Circuit Court Judge and Wisconsin Supreme Court Candidate Susan Crawford joins Maggie and Tom to discuss the (just announced!) March 12 debate. The Wisconsin Supreme Court plays an important role into our rights and acts as a check and balance for other branches of government. Judge Crawford says she will be a judge we can count on to uphold those values. Maggie and Tom also take some time this hour to look into how Democrats should handle the upcoming budget reconciliation bill and vote. They are literally fighting corruption, so is withholding their votes until they get some GOP compromise the right move? They need to play a shrewd game to help protect some of our principles and and programs, as Maggie and Tom discuss.

This hour, Maggie dives into whether or not we are at a tipping point in the United States by looking at the history of billionaires that influenced presidents and governments in the past. There is history to be revisited and unsettling similarities in the dismantling of our current government organizations and procedures and what happened in Germany during Hitler's reign. We are not served well when billionaires are in control.

Director Marquette Law School Poll and Prof. Emeritus UW-Madison, Charles Franklin joins Maggie to discuss the new Marquette Law School poll. Charles notes that a substantial majority support some of President Donald Trump’s early initiatives. There's an equally substantial majority that oppose other policies, and those divisions don't necessarily follow political lines. Maggie also discusses where Trump's policies are actually coming from. Turns out, money does talk. When it comes to corruption, Trump cozies up to dictators, fascists, and gives away the keys to democracy to the billionaire overlords. Trump is a tinpot dictator, and America's oligarchs are now in charge.

This hour, Maggie looks at why Donald Trump is proceeding like he is. She begins the conversation with the founder of the MAGA movement: Steve Bannon...and "muzzle velocity," or moving at lightning speed despite the constitutionality or legality to overwhelm. Maggie points out that the current MAGA movement is actually fractured because it isn't populist. It's pretending to be populist because it needs to be, and Trump is the perfect patsy. The president is acting like a king because he wants to be a king, but he's not. He doesn't even have a mandate! And without that, he's weak.
