Dear Civically Speaking Listeners,
Thanks for tuning in to this episode, the second in a close to being named Political Series - perhaps it will be called 'Putting the Persons back in Politics'.
In this episode I have a conversation with Saskatoon Willowgrove, Sask Party MLA, Ken Cheveldayoff. We talk about his background, what ignited his passion for politics, and some of the roles he has served in over the years.
It was a fun interview - and in full disclosure - true to Saskatchewan - Ken and I grew up together and remain connected through our shared communities where family and friends remain - we were classmates from K to 12 at Blaine Lake Composite School.
Tune in on Tuesday at 6:30 pm on CFCR.ca 90.5 FM Saskatoon and watch for the podcast version following the show.
Take care everyone.

Dear Listeners,
Welcome to the first in a series that will wind its way through the whole of our 2022 season.
In this series, yet to be named, I will be connecting with Elected Representatives of all parties and orders - Provincial, Federal, Municipal, First Nation and Metis over the course of 2022 from Saskatoon, across Saskatchewan, and beyond.
In between such interviews, a focus on planning and municipal issues will remain a key focus with various guests featuring topics of all shapes and kinds. Stay tuned.
In this episode, I connect with Matt Love, a first term MLA, elected in 2020. A teacher by profession, and originally from Alberta, Matt moves for love and work to Saskatchewan where he caught the 'political bug.' We learn about Matt's background and some of his current focuses as a Critic on a number of provincial files e.g. Seniors, Municipal issues.
Thanks for listening to Civically Speaking.
Be well during these most interesting of times.

Dear Listeners,
Welcome to the final show of 2021 that culminates in an episode of "Behind the Kirton at Saskatoon's City Hall with Councillor David Kirton" together with Journalist, Phil Tank.
In this episode we reflect on some of the key civic highlights and issues of 2021. Please have a listen this discussion that took place in person. The last time I did such an interview in person was in the 'Before Times" of Covid19 in March 2020! And it was in a glorious setting inside an historic building in the library of one Winston's Pub!
Thanks Councillor Kirton/David and Phil for joining. Much appreciation.
And to you, dear listeners, thanks for tuning into this show over the past year. Indeed, a year that felt more like the extended version of the very long 2020 pandemic album.
Thank you to all the guests who joined the show this season and to the CFCR team who make this all happen behind the scenes. Much appreciation.
To all, I wish you a very Happy New Year!
Be safe. Do good. Love lots.

Dear Listeners,
Many thanks to Dr. Ryan Brook for joining Civically Speaking. In this edition, Dr. Brook shares about his research on moose on the loose - literally - we talk about research related to moose found in agricultural areas across Saskatchewan. Moose that some 20 years ago was not something we'd typically see. And we learn what this means.
There are some fun factoids in this episodes and important learnings. Have a listen as we talk moose and learn about terms like prairie pot holes and what canola and peas means to moose. And next show, Ryan will provide some verification about the average weight and height of a moose ;)
Please visit Ryan Brook - College of Agriculture and Bioresources - University of Saskatchewan (usask.ca) for related information.

Hello Dear Listeners,
What a treat to interview the Secretary General of the Commonwealth Association of Planners, Kelley Moore. Kelley shares a bit about how she came to be in this position and then some observations on a recent trip she took over the pond to Scotland and England where she attended COP26 and a number of related planning activities.
Special note; this interview was done after 26 hours of being awake and in transit. As Kelley shares, "not my finest moment but happy to share."

Thanks for tuning in. Communications Expert, Christina Cherneskey joins the show to share some observations, reflections and perceptions about experiences around COVID-19.
It was a refreshing conversation, if one can say such, about how one is doing during this pandemic and some of the thoughts that run through our minds as we stop for a moment and just think about where we are at - some 20 months into this pandemic.
Thanks Christina for joining the show. Much appreciation. And thanks listeners for tuning into community radio and supporting shows like this that run on stations like CFCR.ca, 90.5 FM in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
