Timothy Granaderos is an actor in Los Angeles, by way of Kalamazoo-Michigan. Formally a Division 1 Soccer Athlete at Michigan State University, he discovered a new passion and competitive edge in performing. He can be seen reprising his role as Montgomery de la Cruz in the upcoming Season 3 of 13 REASONS WHY. 

I wanted to talk to him because I saw him become interested in acting in his twenties and start to pursue it and make it happen. He didn’t grow up with this dream and I thought that was very inspiring to hear his story in becoming a working actor in LA and I truly hope it inspires you!

Along with our personal journeys (a lot on body image and how we relate to food) we talk about labels and the boxes we put ourselves in and how that may create harm.  How we all need to speak up and not be afraid to say things for fear of offending others as we can only learn and grow together.

Jason Mraz is a Grammy Award winning singer songwriter, avocado and coffee farmer who I have worked on and off with for over a decade.. We start off exploring the quote “Choose a job you love, and never work a day in your life.”  Then get into the many jobs he chose and how intentional he was in making his career be music and his journey to “making it”. We also talk yes vs. no, astrology, about when and why he saw he wanted to live a healthier lifestyle and get cut off by his cat joining us at the perfect time to take a pause and resume the conversation in the next episode!

A couple of my favorite moments are when we talk about what work is in general and how we all do work that helps people whether you are a cashier, coach, or singer. I also love really loved Jason’s love of the idea of “It’s none of my business what you think of me” and sharing how I view judgement and the fear of it and his beginner tattoo and the reasoning behind it.
