Classic Metal Show

When Rick Hunolt left Exodus, many expected him to do what most legacy metal guys do—lean on the past. Instead, he built Nefarious, a band that’s heavy, fresh, and far from formulaic.

In this in-depth interview, Rick talks with Chris Akin about crafting something new from the Bay Area thrash blueprint without recycling Exodus riffs. They also cover the friendly vibe between Exodus members, why DieHumane is still alive, and the surprising power behind Nefarious’s debut Addicted to Power.

This week on THE CLASSIC METAL SHOW, Neeley and I couldn't resist digging into the latest headline about Sebastian Bach getting dressed down by his record company. The reason? His alarmingly low streaming numbers. Now, you’d think an artist in this day and age would understand the game, but Bach’s response was pure gold – or pure delusion, depending on how you look at it. We picked apart his statements and, frankly, it just reinforced our belief: the guy is seriously out of touch with today's audience.

It’s a classic example of an old-school rockstar refusing to adapt, blaming the platform instead of looking in the mirror. We're talking about an industry that's completely transformed, and if you're not on board, you're getting left behind. This isn't about shitting on a legend; it's about calling out the uncomfortable truth that some of our heroes need a serious reality check. Tune in to hear our full, unfiltered take on why Sebastian Bach needs to wake up and smell the Spotify.

This week on THE CLASSIC METAL SHOW, Neeley and I got into some killer new music from our dedicated fans. First up, Steve Jackson dropped some tracks from his new band, and then an Austrian fan blew us away with a song featuring the legendary David Readman from Pink Cream 69. It’s always awesome to hear what real metalheads are creating, away from the industry's BS.

But then, we stumbled onto a video of a guy, who kinda looked like Neeley, absolutely losing his mind over the price of Paul McCartney tickets. And let me tell you, that set us off. We dove deep into why concert tickets are so damn expensive now. It's not just inflation; it’s a whole system designed to fleece fans. We're talking about dynamic pricing, scalpers, and promoters squeezing every last dime out of you. It's a brutal reality check for anyone who loves live music but can't afford to see their favorite bands anymore. This is a topic that hits close to home for every true metal fan.
